So after seeing that harsh -6% nerf on the Doctrine archtype for autos today in the news, I was curious how much of a net decrease in damage since the beginning it actually was. This is strictly PVP.
TL;DR
HRoF Autos are at a net -8 to 11% decrease from vanilla.
(forgive me if I missed an update here)
-So on 10/24/2014 all Autos got a -2% decrease in damage (as well as crit multiplier but doesn't really matter here as I'll be ignoring the 1.5x to 1.25x changes anyway)
-02/25/2015 we saw a -2.5% decrease average among autos in general, only stating that HRoF didn't get hit as hard, while slower ones did (Goodbye Suros Regime). I'm going to estimate HRoF were at a net of anywhere from -3 to -4.5% (that being the full -2.5 decrease just to cover bases)
-Now here's the wrench. 09/08/2015 for TTK all we got in patch notes was "Autos base damage increased across the board." Autos were in a bad spot here, and I'm inclined to believe it was restored to 0% (or maybe a 2% to increase to a net -2.5% instead) with the counter being more severe damage drop off, but that's just speculation.
-11/20/2015 we finally got a split in changes for archtypes. Concentrating on high RoF Autos, they received a measly +0.04% damage increase buff. Now with the last bulletnote, it's hard to say exactly what the net percentage is, but I'm guessing somewhere around 0.04 to -2.54%. Again, just an estimation based on the change values prior.
-04/07/2016, our latest change aside from tomorrow, HRoF saw another -2.5% decrease, an estimated net now at -2.54% to -5.04%.
-06/14/2016, tomorrow we get an astonishing -6% decrease, leaving us at a guess of -8.54% to -11.04% decrease since launch of vanilla destiny, bar crit damage multiplier mentioned at first.
Roughly 11.04% Decrease since we started guys. That means it's going to feel like HRoF autos will be worse off than they've ever been. I'm more inclined to believe it'll be more on par with how shitty HRoF Autos felt during the span of Crota's End to right before The Taken King due to universal sandbox changes; you know it as when Necrochasm was around and poked fun at for how many cotton balls it shot.
That said, will it actually feel different? We mostly have gotten nerfs the entire time for this weapon archtype, and suddenly Doctrine-type was OP during The Taken King? I understand other weapons suffering along the way, but still? I honestly predict the rise of the slower scout/pulse meta with maybe the likes of The First Curse thrown in, but that's just me.
Again this is all just based off the numbers in patch notes, and my own guesses based of such when numbers weren't presented. What are your thoughts? You finally hanging up that Doctrine? I'd really hate to let go of my Soulstealer's Claw, it's been my favorite weapon in Destiny so far.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in places, I'm not trying say I'm all knowing, just I'm legitimately curious how much this archtype has fallen haha.
