Dear Bungie,
Another cool thing about the 1:1 infusion system is that it makes it pretty easy for players to figure out the level of their drops, even after some were used for infusion purposes.
So let's take a look at some numbers, shall we?
More specifically the number of 335 items that I've amassed on my Titan since the April update came out:
(NB: I play with 1 character only, so all these were amassed from 1x Raid a week, 1 PoE Challenge a
Week, IB, some Heroic / Nightfall / Weekly Shaxx rewards, but mostly lots of exotic farming with 3oC)
Count of 335 light level drops/items:
8x 335 primary weapons
16x 335 special weapons
15x 335 heavy weapons
12x 335 ghost shells (deleted some more too IIRC)
10x 335 helmets
10x 335 gauntlets
9x 335 boots
8x 335 class items
6x 335 artifacts
And...
Wait for it...
1x 335 chest plate.
That's right. ONE.
Out of 95 light level 335 drops, only ONE was a chest piece.
Another way to look at it is that, excluding chest pieces, I have an average of 10.4 335 items per slot.
94 vs 1
10.4 vs 1
Let it sink in...
Now we all know that with TTK, max light level Primaries are hard to come by, with Hard mode Oryx Challenge being the sole quasi-guaranteed source.
So I can't help but being a bit surprised by this new-found rarity of max-level chest plates....
Can you honestly look at the numbers above and tell me that all is well and working as intended with RNG and Raid challenge rewards when a player can get a NINTEY FOUR TO ONE ratio on some items, or, on average, TEN TIMES more 335 drops for ALL item types except one?!??
On top of the count of 335 items listed above, I have a bunch on 334 items on each slot, and yet I only have 7x 334 chest plates...
"well it's totally random"
Right...
I'm sure that plenty of players out there have twenty or so 335 chest plates.
And that chest plates per say are not the problem / others may be experiencing the same issue with other types of items.
Still, I can't help but feel that something is broken here especially where raid drops are concerned (looking at you Golgoroth...)
Thanks to a lucky exotic drop (1 in 6 IIRC), I was able to escape this "forever 334.90" loop, and for whatever it's worth, hit max light.
But it was a pretty infuriating journey since, miraculously, most exotics started decoding at 334 the minute I was 10% away from 335.
And to this day, a second 335 chest piece still eludes me.
So before less hardcore players again give up and walk away due to more "forever 1 point below the level cap", could you please once and for all take a look at your stupid RNG and so called smart loot system for Raids?
Or acknowledge and fix the 334-end-game-drops-and-exotics-decoding-at-334-once you reach 335?
Cheers...
Update - after this AM:
9x 335 primary weapons
17x 335 special weapons
15x 335 heavy weapons
12x 335 ghost shells (deleted more IIRC)
10x 335 helmets
10x 335 gauntlets
10x 335 boots
9x 335 class items
6x 335 artifacts
And...
Wait for it...
STILL ONLY 1x 335 chest plate.
We're almost officially at 1 out of 100 people... Or a 1% drop rate!!!
(Raid tonight will take care of that since the first 2 checkpoints do not drop chest pieces, but will most likely drop at least 1 more 335 item :p)

You mean, broken in a fixed way?

3 commentairesHave farm 3oc and well I got 47 and counting gauntlet engrams in a row, plus my friend that farms the cosmodrome with me got 24 in a row. Cannot be rng. Out of all the different types of exotic engrams you can get I just keep getting gauntlets. Sadly.
