I see where you got this from and its something I've thought about myself, me being a Christian and all. Let's take a look at Jesus, the central figure of Christianity. Jesus stood for peace, he loved his enemies and always forgave them and expected his followers to follow his own example. I believe Christianity is a religion of peace if you follow the example laid out by Jesus which is the way its suppose to be. Anybody who tells you something different that Jesus didn't say or set an example for, is a liar. That being said, we believe that there is a day that Jesus will come back and take all believers to his kingdom. It is not our duty to forcefully bring that kingdom here, instead, its our duty to share the gospel to others and show that love and compassion that Jesus showed us.
