I've sent nick Valentine to spectacle island(piper is on there) after I picked up cait at combat zone, it says spectacle island has 2 people on it but I can only find piper on the island. I've looked around everywhere there 2-3 times and I put a bell up too but only piper walks up.
What do i do? Do companions actually walk there or do they teleport? Maybe I put nick in sanctuary but I looked everywhere there too but I couldn't find him, and I checked his office in diamond city and he isn't there either.

If the bell doesn't work, make sure you don't have to do the Dangerous Minds quest (Memory Den), as Valentine will always be here whenever you enter the room, regardless of whether you assigned him to a settlement or not.

Build a bell. Ring it and all settlers will travel to the bell. You can wait an hour to hurry it up.
