I should clarify that I use synths the entire time during the raid until Crota

There are multiple points throughout the raid where you can do the heavy ammo glitch. You don't have to be in the crystal room. For example I do it in the following scenarios: Abyss after jumping on the rock If cheesing bridge, while sniping to the other side After kill Ir Yut Crystal room No need to ever use sythns and you aren't holding you team up like in the crystal room.

Oh I agree there are plenty of times to use it. I usually don't have to use a synth during the abyss since there is a lot of heavy dropped killing the thralls. If I don't have a few rockets left I will always use one during the bridge and deathsinger. I have just been in far too many raids, and seen people run out of ammo making the team wipe because they didn't speak up and have someone switch jobs with them. I also remember when Crota HM came out and Xur didn't have synth for a month... Was not fun being in groups who had no synth. I would just personally like to know there is heavy waiting for me, and not have to rely on the cool down happening at the right time. We've all been there. Now I'm that guy who has your back if you don't have ammo. "Don't worry I got it" If that means you guys have to wait for 20 seconds then I say it was worth it.
