20 commentairesThe salt is real lol. I originally put my thoughts as a reply to another post, but people are so universally outraged I thought I’d share my thoughts with everyone instead. Simply put, you’re overreacting by a wide margin in my opinion. For the most part, the things that are being cut are activities that are outdated and have already been experienced to the fullest by most of the community to this point. All of the raids and raid lairs that are going away haven’t been consistently played in almost a year for most of us, with the exception of SotP for Anarchy purposes. For Crucible, who plays Crucible for the maps? The map is just a backdrop for the slaughter that’s about to ensue. As for the game types, I was only upset about Momentum Control leaving, and that’s coming back. Most of the other game types leaving were hot garbage anyway. I will admit that I do enjoy Gambit, though not Gambit Prime, so I’m a bit bummed by the announcement there. However Kell’s Grave was the worst Gambit map by a mile and I’d happily sacrifice 3 more maps to the DCV to get that map removed. Fortunately, we only had to sacrifice one additional map, no big deal. In my mind, it comes down to this: These changes clear the way for new content and some remastered favorites to come back that will fill the void left by that underplayed content. I would argue that a) this is a positive step for the overall health of the game and b) the VAST majority of players won’t be left wanting for things to do in any given week. Besides, everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that more stuff will be added each season lol, they’re clearly going to add more to the game. I recognize that people are never happy when content is cut, I’m not arguing that they should be happy about that either. All I’m saying is that people should focus less on the things that are being taken away (even though they hardly cared about them until the DCV announcement) and focus on the positive potential this creates for D2 moving forward. I know I’ll be called a Bungie apologist, white knight, etc. for the sheer audacity of speaking of Bungie in favorable terms in this cesspool of negativity that is the D2 forums... but I don’t care. lol I’m too old to be worried about what people think of my opinions. Enjoy!
