Should I change my region for better connection?
I am a service member stationed in South Korea. South Korea reportedly has some of the best internet in the world, but when I am attempting to do anything matchmaking related it is just awful. It take 3-5 minutes per crucible match, and worse on smaller game modes. I can't play lv41 PoE at all!! I sat matchmaking for 15 mins with out it putting me in a game. What can I do to fix this? My internet connection gives me 100 megs down and 40 megs up. All I can think is perhaps changing my xbox account region, but there is no info any where to support that will fix the issue. I really need some Bungie help with this.

2 commentairesChanging your console's region wont trick the matchmaking into believing you are somewhere else. For that, you would need to connect through a VPN that hides your public ip. That will result in a lot of lag though. The only advantage for gaming of using a VPN would be that it makes it difficult to impossible for a wanna be hacker to DoS you. Also, if your VPN's visible IP is in the US, you should be match made with mostly US players. You'de lag horribly, though.
