You see I didn't think I would love the series as much as I do. I remember back in 2009 when I picked up Demon's Souls and suffered through that game. By the time I beat it I came to the conclusion that it was a good game, just not for me ya know?
Then in 2011 my friend told me to get Dark Souls, my immediate reaction was "Hell to the -blam!- no!" Needless to say my friend persisted. So here I was suffering through Dark Souls, forcing my self to carry on because I made a commitment to beat every game I own. It was during my 18th attempt on the 4 kings when suddenly everything just clicked.
The controls suddenly felt like second nature, the boss suddenly felt super easy, yet still fun. I knew everything the boss would do, exactly when he would do it, how much damage it did, what I could block, what I couldn't block. The best way I can describe the feeling is a Matrix "There is no Spoon" moment.
What about you? When did it all Click?

I tried Demon souls, tried Dark Souls, couldn't get into either of them. I probably have about 10 hours on the 2 of them combined. It was by that point that I just knew the game wasn't for me, but I heard so much hype for Bloodborne that I went and got that. Hated it more than the rest, starter zone was complete murder. I was determined to play it though because there has to be some reason the game was so popular. When I got to gascoigne it clicked for me. After that fight I played nothing but Bloodborne for 2 weeks, it was by far my favourite game of the year.

2 commentairesIt clicked for me when I went back to the dashboard on 360, and never played DS1 AGAIN...

2 commentairesBack when dark souls got released on pc. Didn't bother with demon souls cause I'm not gonna buy a console just for 1 game.

I'll let you know once I get past Undeadburg.

It clicked for me after finally beating Queelag and ringing the second bell. I knew then that my journey was only just beginning.

1 commentaireWhen I finally beat Ornstein and Smough. To this day that boss fight is still the hardest imo.

The Undead Asylum of Dark Souls 1. I, not knowing what kind of game I was playing, tried to fight the Asylum Demon with my fists a couple times. On the verge of giving up, I noticed the gate on the left wall. Plunge-attacking the Demon made me feel like a god, and the rest is history :)

After I stopped treating enemies like skyrim enemies rushing through them and actually started taking my time on bosses learning their patterns and using strategies.

Bloodborne.

It's an ok game series. Nothing too special for me.

1 commentaireDark souls 1: The gameplay and story failed to immerse me and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Quit after the lava spider thing where the story still failed to present itself Dark souls 2: Quit even earlier this time due to the sheer fact that the game isn't clear on where you need to go to progress the game further Dark souls 3: the only game in the series I'm actually enjoying and want to complete because I find it fun (unlike the previous souls games) Currently on the Abyss watchers

It kind of clicked with me since the beginning. I was the last out of my friends to beat the asylum demon (he kicked my ass the very first time). But I was the the first and only one to beat the game (my friends quit).

If you mean beginning to enjoy the game it was after killing the taurus demon in ds1 If you mean actually getting successful and knowing what you're doing, id say going into the depths, I was able to crush basilisks

DS2(vanilla) got me into the series. It is a great game.

Love at first sight for me

4 commentairesNot really a Dark Souls fan. Started with Demon Souls. It was ok. Tried Dark Souls next and it felt the same. Played Blood Borne about a week or 2 ago... Have to say, I was starting to enjoy the game. Think it was because of the weapons. Bought Dark Souls III yesterday. Only bought it because of the katana... Love katanas.

1 commentaireModifié par Dragonborn012 : 4/21/2016 9:46:58 PMWhen I got to Anor Londo in Dark Souls. The environment and the enemy design was awesome. I loved the silver Knights and made it a priority to get their gear. I also practiced the parry mechanic extensively there and became pretty good at it. Anor Londo and Vendrick's Castle were my favorite places. I guess I have a thing for royal establishments lol.

In demons souls I'd get invaded and hide and cower, by the end of the game I was John Wayne Gacy.

1 commentaireWhen I started up dark souls and realized that for the first time in a while I was playing a game that didn't assume I was retarded. I didn't realize it until I had it back but it's been a long time since a game didn't just give me a marker on a minimap to go to next. The difficulty is extremely over rated. Dark souls is a meme at this point, but I'm glad to have a series that doesn't constantly hold my hand. I didn't really get in to dark souls 2. Just felt like the exact same game, played through once and didn't pick it back up. how's 3?

I really got into it after the first pursuer fight in DS2,I think it was that feeling of perfection when you beat something like HIM.

A couple years ago when I first got Dark Souls, I struggled immensely and don't understand what to do. In response, I put the game down for what must have been half a year. Then one day I decided to pick the game back up after watching some people play parts of it, made a commitment to learning and understanding the game, and eventually finished it. Then I began to watch more and more videos of the game, and started to realize that I was genuinely happy to watch and play this game. This joy carried over to Dark Souls 2 being released, and I ended up sinking days worth of hours into that game. This love for the mechanics and fan base of the souls series persuaded me to eventually buy a playstation 3 and 4 so I would have access to the notorious exclusives Demon Souls and Bloodborne. Now all I feel is this joy when playing the games as it is something I have never experienced before with any other game. I have already beat Dark Souls 3, and still have the same joy in me.
