Fatebringer: Field Scout vs Explosive Rounds

I just got my first Fatebringer, and I'm sure this question has been asked around a lot, but which one is better and why? Thank you.

  • W3rdblader posted this before: firefly: a precision kill will cause that enemy to explode and cause ADDITIONAL damage to enemies nearby. explosive rounds: REDUCES the amount of damage PER ROUND and turns that LOST damage to an area of effect blast. Kills with the explosion DO NOT activate the firefly ability. TLW: If you want to use your fatebringer, or any weapon with firefly, do NOT have explosive rounds active or else you lose your firefly additional blast damage because enemies start dying from the explosive damage, not the precision damage. No precision kill means no firefly explosion. -------end of his post--------- So basically explosive rounds negate firefly but I do find I still get precision headshot counts on the daily bounty with explosive turned on. I like the explosive rounds but it's preference.

With field scout i only hit 1.5 per precision hit.

    • Field shot because explosive rounds make you loose crit damage in exchange for a small AOE damage

      • Field scout because explosive round reduces the impact dmg and negates firefly. Plus field scout lets you carry almost 40 more shots in reserve

      • Explosive rounds reduce the amount of times firefly activates because of the splash damage effect it has. Unless you like that, use field scout.

        • I usually don't run with field scout. I may use explosive rounds for arc nightfalls

        • Field scout not only increases mag size by 1 but also increases the max reserve ammo to 104 shots. I personally use this because I don't like explosive rounds as much and I like not having to worry about ammo. Also explosive rounds decrease the precision damage delt to enemies which I don't like.
