So it's now the second week where the Nightfall and Heroic have been DLC exclusive; locking out all those who don't have it. And to be honest, i'm already sick of it. Every tuesday, I, and i'm sure a lot of people, look forward to complete the Nightfall and everything that's included in the weekly reset. But apparently we've been denied of that excitement once again. It's like we're being punished for not handing our money over for On-Disk DLC. It's not fair.
I refuse to pay £20 to people who are more and more seemingly to be money grabbing cheats. I used to love Bungie and Destiny, but that love is rapidly fading away. I'm not crying, just expressing my opinions and feelings. Does anybody else feel this way?
Edit: *Got this to trending. Woo!* Anyway, reading the comments, most people are saying that I should just buy the DLC judging by how many hours i've played. (A lot). In some respects, I agree with this. As I said, the thing holding me back is that part of the DLC is already on the disk. And the obvious question that follows is "Why would I pay for something I already own?". For those of you who are saying it's just gone Xmas, go buy it. After paying off a small debt, I literally don't have a pound to spare.
However, this has given me time to think and reflect, and it's sort of swaying my decision. Question is, if I wanted to buy it, I couldn't until I find a Job. One more thing, what's with all the hostility? God damn, i've seen better manners and behavior in a children's party. Chill guys, no need to get so angry.

12 RepliesDon't want to buy it fine, but when paid content comes out and you can't play it don't bitch. It's your goddamn fault and not Bungie's that you don't have the content. So get off your high horse and stop whining about the s***.

No your missing out on dlc because you are tight

4 RepliesEdited by Blyndwolf: 12/31/2014 12:39:54 AMI'm confused about this "I already own what's on the disc" mentality. Let me enlighten you as to intellectual property. You don't own the game. You own a license. You purchased the right to play certain potions of their data. The license only extends to certain parts of the world. If you buy Microsoft Office student edition, you don't get Access. But it's bundled in every other office package. You don't buy the license to Access though, so you don't get to access... Access. (See what I did there?) Here, you didn't buy the license to the seraphim vault. It was bundled in my guardian edition that I paid more for. Just like Access is bundled with Office. Essentially, you only purchased the license to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. You can use Access if you buy the license. Now, to your complaint: I agree. DLC owners should be on a separate playlist. You shouldn't be prevented from playing the nighfall/weekly because it is a DLC only strike. You shouldn't have to buy the DLC to play what you already own (but as discussed above, you don't own the DLC content :) )
-
Why would you continue to play destiny, if your not going to get the dlc?
-
2 RepliesAre you going to complain every time this strike is the weekly
-
Your completely right but the problem is the norm for people nowadays is to simply give in throw cash blindly to these businesses, it sucks people who paid money for a base game should not have it taken away because they chose not to purchase dlc. But like I said bungie/activision are more than happy to alienate an entire fan base because they know there will be people who don't care for morals of right and wrong.
-
Yep. You're being locked out. It sucks.
-
No pay no play bro
-
Oh yeah, it would be so much better if everyone who bought the DLC had absolutely nothing to do with it.
-
3 RepliesIf you need money to buy it go find a job and work and stop complaining about it on the forums
-
1 ReplyPeople who have the expansion want to play the new missions, so they include them to please the people that do own the dlc. Plus the new missions are a lot more challenging and fun than the original missions.
-
3 RepliesBut it ya cheap ass
-
1 ReplyYes you are being punished for it. And everything else that happens to you isn't your fault. Everyone is out to get you and to screw you over.
-
8 RepliesIf you refuse to give them money for DLC then you're refusing to progress in the game as well. Quit bitching and buy it or shut up. It's your choice.
-
1 ReplyArghhh how dare they put a strike in a game where they just had their first DLC and the DLC has a strike! Arghh how dare they put new strikes in rotation! Stop complaining, if you truly do not like the game, stop playing
-
7 RepliesWhy can't people afford it? Its $20 us. What? Did y'all spend your money on cigs? Quit being cheap -blam!-s and buy it. Get rekt scrubs.
-
1 ReplyEither buy the dlc or quit playing makes no difference to me. We need the new content n the rotation.

It would definitely seem so. I have the DLC but this is pretty pathetic. If bungie is trying to change their reputation for the worst practically overnight then they are certainly doing a bang up job.

1 ReplyI've been on these forums for so many years and didn't think Bungie would even become such a sellout of a company. It's just sad really. I thought Halo:Reach was one hell of a way to leave the franchise. That was their peak. Now they're just some puppet company that takes orders from a company looking to money grab with overpriced DLC. It's disgusting. I'd rather be charged $100 for Destiny and get a whole game with no DLC. That's better than paying $60 and being forced to pay for more content in order to enjoy this game. What a slap in the face. How much money is enough? How big does that profit margin need to be? It's not fun anymore. They think they can cut the quality in half and charge twice the price and no one will notice. The fans aren't stupid. Bungie is just like all the others now.

1 ReplyJust because an environment was developed and included on disc or through DL shortly after launch doesn't mean they weren't working on this content up until it launched Dec. 9th. Environment is the easiest part of development, specially after all the code for the environment has been written. It's like throwing a level together in halo forge. Your saying that because what took them maybe a day or two of development is already included, you will refuse to pay for the endless hours they spent programming battles, mechanics, and testing to remove glitches (which they obviously worked on up till launch cause they couldn't even fix them all in time). Bungie has been a hit and miss with the updates they have implemented, but they have been doing far better of updating this game and working around the clock to make it something great than any other game I have ever played. It might not be there yet, but refusing to buy the dlc is your choice and you are going to be locked out of the dlc including weeklies and dailies when they come through the rotation.

Its -blam!-in stupid I need the dlc
-
1 ReplyI bought the "money grab" & still feel bad for those like you who didn't... Bungie is becoming whores, no two ways bout it.
-
Answer is YES. Its 20 freaking dollars! Come on now.
-
Yes. You're being punished. Now buy the 20$ Expansion like a good boy.

Edited by el freaky: 12/30/2014 10:22:37 PMIf your so sick of it then either buy it, or stop playing. Telling on the forums won't change a thing.
