As per usual, we're all seeing a lot of ranting and complaining about the Hunter and the super ability either with the Gunslinger or Bladedancer subclasses. Too many feel it is overpowered and unfair. Here is my take on why it is not.
When a Hunter does a super, he/she has to do the following:
- Enable it within the right timing to engage others. Too soon, and it wears off before you get a shot off or a melee attack in.
- Have good aim to not waste a shot if using the Gunslinger subclass.
- Survive attack shots and melee hits while doing the above.
- If killed while super is enabled, it is gone on re-spawn.
When a Titan or Warlock does a super, he/she does the following:
- Press two buttons when close to one or more enemies
- If hit successful, walk/run away and continue on. If missed, fight or die.
- If killed while the Titan or Warlock is about to land a super, the super is considered inactive, and is there on re-spawn.
Another way to look at the situation: When a Titan/Warlock does a super, you're probably dead. If a Hunter enables the super, you at least have a change of fight or flight.
Now please, discontinue the posts about Hunters being overpowered. Just learn how to handle the situation, or, let it happen and continue on.
Cheers.

All the supers are OP... Thats the point... Except bubble vs any offensive super...

11 RepliesAs a predominately Titan/Warlock player I don't have a problem with Golden as much as Arc Blade. The only complaint I have with GG is that as long as you aim in the general area of your target they're dead. This finality is tempered with a kill limitation. The best a Gunslinger can hope to do is 4 kills with AS helm. So I'm good with GG. Arc Blade is different. I hate that super. You trigger that on a Zone and even if people are running away or jumping in the air they're dead. It takes 2 shotgun blasts in most cases to kill them, just getting one is hard enough. Arc Blade can extend a long way from where it was triggered because of the agility/speed boost. It's the super that is the most likely to get high kill counts in a single use. Fist of Havoc can be jumped over, stepped around or even cancelled with one shotgun blast to the face. In order to get FoH off you have to sneak up on your targets. Very un-Titan like. Any long approach to your launch area is certain death. However you do have the ability to take out 6 players if timed right. Warlocks have the 2nd best (barely) super in terms of likelihood to get max kills per use. They don't have to get as close as a Titan to trigger their super and the Nova Bomb has a larger blast radius that FoH.

5 RepliesI've tried to use the Hunter supers and I realized they are really hard to use. That was the day I stopped thinking they were OP.
-
Completely agree but gunslinger is the best pvp super. Sunsinger a close second. I also have to disagree with the "good aim" with golden gun. Other super might be way easier to aim but golden gun give a more than generous hit box and auto aim assist so i can't say it takes real skill. I personally think sunsinger is the hardest super to master of them all.
-
No, you can kill a Sunsinger right at the start and waste their Super. The Nova Bomb is also the only Super that can kill the user. Fist of Panic is definitely OP seeing as it has infinite height. Ward of Dawn is fine. And then the Bladedancer and Gunslinger both have way too much time on the clock and the Bladedancer someone always seems to have extra armor. I've put a hell of a lot of bullets into a Bladedancer running at me from across the map only to be killed by him.
-
As a Bladedancer in regular PvP most people don't know how to handle the situation, but in Iron Banana or Trials people tend to be a bit more competitive and smart about supers, I usually get shot with a shotgun and then a melee and I die
-
Idc about supers being over power I mean they're supers they're supposed to be good but it's just annoying how blade dancers can just spam their melee over and over.

I'm a hunter and this is true imma tell u a story that happened to me last trails. 1 more win for flawless score 4 to 4. My team killed 2 of the enemies and lost 1 of ours in the engagement as I'm heading to the last enemy he uses goldengun. I throw my trip mine at him (doesn't stick to him but damages) jump his first shot and knife him for the win. U can't do that to a warlock our titan
-
Yeah nice try but you're not convincing anyone.

3 RepliesThe Hunter's golden gun is a very situational super, I'd say more so than any of the existing supers. Whipping out a gg the second you get it in PvP isn't an insta-kill, you need to aim and shoot. The hated op super quickly turns into a waste when you can't zero in on somebody in the distance and waste two shots, get shotgunned right as you pop the super, get sniped from across the map, or spam all three bullets on one player so you don't let the super go to waste. But when the stars align and you get a multi-kill, with one dead guardian for each bullet, it's incredibly rewarding. What people overlook though is that not every gunslinger is a deadeye and just take to the forums when they get blown away by gg.
Tl;dr: try playing as the class you bitch about and see how they have it before making people like the op create another thread explaining why you're being a big ass baby ( • ̀ω•́ )✧
-
I like how you left out radiance because it takes just as much "skill" as gg and arcblade.
-
It's no more or less overpowered than any other super for any other class. It has its strengths and weaknesses and almost always results in a kill to anyone within range.
-
Aren't*

53 RepliesGolden gun has three tires. Nova and fist only have one. Blade dancers can run around killing people while not really being damaged
-
2 RepliesSo you justify hunter OPENIS by saying the others can panic super? FOH can be panicked, yes, but I only use mine to shut down other supers. Cry me a river. In no way will a Titan beat a hunter in crucible until we get Sunbreaker.
-
None of the supers are broken. Yes, they have the potential to be frustrating. But classes should be the last thing on our minds.
-
In pve it's basically useless :)

1 ReplyEdited by jwodoe: 7/14/2015 4:12:49 PMI noticed how you addressed the gunslinger that takes skill I usually miss one myself but you forgot the real super people say is op and I AGREE. Blade dancer one button you can easily get six kills if they are close enough. The over shield is op with little reaction time to take it out. It is super fast faster than blink so you can cover lots of ground. And other points but I gtg. Edit: most of you points like do it to soon etc goes for all supers on all characters
-
16 RepliesThe only argument for them not being op is they aren't a panic super. It's much easier to get multi kills with hunter supers cause with titan and warlock supers they have to be bunched up super tight. For a hunter you could potentially kill enemies on the opposite sides of the map
-
2 RepliesTiming is not hard on GG. BD is a lot harder to use. Hunters are not op I don't know why people even say they are.
Warlock main
-
6 RepliesAs warlock, i dont think the hunter super is op. I'll take on any bladedancer running at me!
-
19 RepliesEdited by SirSwell: 7/14/2015 3:43:10 PMStill over-powered compared to other supers, it takes timing and skill to kill more than one enemy with fist or nova, where as a hunter u can mosey around and kill as u see fit When TTK comes out they will be balanced out i believe.. Cant wait for stormcaller, tired of my nova bombs accidentally hitting small objects (poles, corners of walls, and whatever other little obstructions) and wasting my supers..
-
1 ReplyI can't tell you as a personal hunter user how many times I have activated my super so I can clear a controll point, just to get panic slammed or nova bombed befor I can get a shot off. I think the hunter supers are extremely ineffective when in competition with a slam or nova bomb, I use titan and warlock in pvp and I can tell you I have never been killed off a super, unless it is self rez or a bubble.
-
12 RepliesHunter: OP special. Shit grenades. Medium melee. Good pvp exotic gear. Warlock: Good distance special. Great grenade. Amazing melee. OP pvp exotic gear. Titan: OP striker grenade. Good defense special. Straight up terrible melee. Good pvp exotic gear. On the whole hunters special is very OP. All depends on how you play. I try to keep my special as a titan and work my gun play.
-
2 RepliesTactically gun slinger is the best super. Nova bomb is second. Titans must wait for new subclass to be relevant in hardcore PVP matches. Death from above is riskier then any niva bomb.
