Why is everyone saying the ps4 killed the Xbox one? From what I saw (correct me if I'm wrong) the ps4 does everything that the Xbox 360 does? With the added bonus of better hardware and graphics!!
I thought the Xbox one destroyed the ps4! I will list a few features that I like :)
Gameplay dvr, editing and sharing.
Gameplay livestream!
Face to face chat on the side of the screen
Halo exclusive
Project spark actually looks really cool!
Live halo series
New and improved hardware.
It just seemed to me that the Ps4 does everything the 360 does but when they said you can buy used games, WOOHOOOOO! Sony for life! Lol even though most people but new games anyways. I for one will be buying Xbox one, and destiny! See you on the battlefield
Side note: destiny gameplay was great, I liked the drop ship idea, the menue and weapon customization looked cool, the male awoken looked cool (but I hope you can still wear sick helmets as one)

Agreed.

You have to look at it like a presidential debate! Forget everything you allready know about the consoles. If you take all the information from both e3 performances, ps4 won by far. I don't care which one is better. Based solely on what we saw, Playstation did kill Xbox.

Honestly, after watching both press releases they look like they do much the same stuff. The XB1 does have the added overlay with the voice/motion features, Sony has not shown their camera system doing anything like this. In terms of what you get with the game sharing/social features, online features, game performance/graphical quality and quality of exclusives both systems look about the same. Unfortunately neither are all that appealing aesthetically, just a box. MS is finally going to give us "free" games along with our gold subscriptions, that is nice. I figured that was coming because Sony has been doing it for quite some time. On the other hand Sony is finally going to give a bit more focus on leveraging their other brands to add content into their online ecosystem, as has been said should happen for years now. I don't recall if MS said anything about streaming games directly to the system but that is a point in the Sony side if not. Then again lets face it, neither system will maintain any such feature for much longer than it takes the other company to put it together themselves. Does anyone really want to watch their buddies face on the side of the screen while they play? Pretty sure the voice chat features will be about all that are really used, both have that. You have been able to do the webcam thing on screen for years with a PC, people tend to avoid using it like the plague. Now as a "talking to the family/friends" thing outside of gaming this is a nice feature. Then again Sony also has a license to put Skype on systems so I assume both will be able to do that. For all of the Halo stuff, well if Halo being on a system was ever that much a deciding factor for you, you were never going to get the PS4 and not the XB1. The hardware is literally almost exactly the same. An octocore AMD APU powers both with only a few differences between them. Beyond that the PS4 has faster memory and little bit more graphics processing power (one of the few differences), which I doubt will be much of an advantage for them in any case. Many people do buy used games. Hell I buy used games when it isn't a game that I am looking forward to and buy on release. Many people like the idea of not needing to have the system connected at all times, though how much of an issue that is for most is yet to be seen. I can say though, living in certain parts of the country, much less certain parts of the world, getting good, reliable internet without draconian bandwidth caps can be an issue. I spend a good bit of time outside of the US every year and it could be an issue if I wanted to have an XB1 connected in our home overseas. For me personally I felt a bit more compelled to go for the games on PS4 in terms of exclusives. The only exclusives that MS had that really made me want to play were Halo and Titanfall. Once again, it doesn't matter much because we will have both systems. Overall though, I think people are mostly just looking for ways to say "MY console of choice is better", even though it doesn't really seem that either one is really superior to the other in most any real way. Pick the console that suits your life, connects you with your friends and lets you play the games you enjoy.

6 RepliesMaybe it's as you say, but $100 different and online membership still has more benefits than XBL?

I think Microsoft blew it away with the exclusive games they announced. However people are saying Sony blew it away because of their no DRM policy and -$100 less price. Which I totally get but by that logic the Wii U should be doing really well ;) All I'm saying is the battle isn't over. Sony did a great job saying, hey gamers we are totally on your side, I'm just afraid they aren't future proofing enough. I really don't want to be swapping discs for games right now, nevermind in five years.

Project spark looked dumb

Neither sides should be proud about this. Sony shouldn't be bragging about features that are just common sense, and MS shouldn't have introduced these features. But that doesn't go to say that Sony's conference nor MS's was bad.

Everything Microsoft did that everyone hated they explicitly showed they did not do.

3 RepliesSony and Microsoft were roughly even in performance. Anyone who says otherwise is a massive fanboy and should be ignored.
-
Seems like its up to people trying to validate their soon to be purchases.
-
3 RepliesTo be fair, the PS4 should have simillar gameplay editing and sharing.
