Something that i would like to see in my life time would be power armor. Im not talking about fallout power armor, but power armor in general. Wouldn't it be amazing to see entire armies wearing power armor? Warfare would be even more intense then it already is. But my question is, how long until we have it? Do you think that we will see any form of it within any of our life times?

10 RepliesEdited by westpointusma15: 4/4/2013 5:37:37 PMIt will never happen for a long time. At best, it will be used by maintenance crews for lifting, cargo duties, and for disaster S&R looking through rubble. Why would a government waste hundreds of thousands of dollars on armor for a soldier when they won't spent near that much on upgraded body armor (the Dragonskin plating) or new firearms? You forget that military hardware is made by the cheapest producer, and the fact that anything like armor or weapons will need to be cheaply mass produced for them to make any difference. A group of 5 soldiers in all of Iraq that have super armor wouldn't make any difference, and what happens when the armor breaks or has a glitch? Does it run on some kind of energy pack? Does it get replaced or recharged? How would one handle the increased supplies necessary to recharge or replace the energy sources on the battlefield?

Trojan Ballistics Armour. It was originally designed for resistance to bear attacks, but it's bulletproof and adapted slightly towards combat in its current state.

here's my power armor

The Medic Prototype Power Armor won't shut up! It's so loud!

It serves no practical purpose. Combat isn't about running and jumping over stuff and punching bad guys, it's about making a shit ton of loud noises and occasionally killing a dude while waiting for a plane to drop a bomb on someone's head.

1 ReplyThey've already developed exoskeletons which augment the stamina and strength of human beings. I'm sure we'll see a variant sometime soon.

I think the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor is actually pretty realistic, you know, besides the energy shields, and the Reactional circuits.

2 RepliesPower army would probably be extremely heavy, would it possible for a person to wear that sort of weight for long durations without permanent damage to their spine?
