If, said card says gift...what specially is categorized as a gift. The word gift is a noun, I assume. And I used my miminal knowledge to assume, that by reading the cards verbage that the words store did not exclude hardware, in fact, the words more is also in the verbage. I go get some items from Wally World, I buy a 10.00 dollar card, no harm no foul. It may be slow, but a little by little it adds up. Now did you know that no other outlet will take PS gift cards for lateral refunds. I was willing to take a cut to not have to start all over, come to find out nobody honors them. Every person that has commented on this subject is awesome, I'm not upset, I'll grind to get my 5 it's ok. I didn't lose the monies, I'll have one hell of a PS5 collection. Look at the 4, their getting some mediocre games while the 5 is getting bangers. I'm out I was just venting.

You don’t seem to get the point. It is a gift card for a storefront that does not sell a PS5. You can’t expect to use a gift card to buy a product that the store it belongs to does not sell. It doesn’t matter what assumptions you made about the card, the PSN store does not sell the hardware, so a PSN card cannot be used to buy it. In the same vein of how you can’t use a GameStop gift card to buy a subway sandwich. Good on you for not being upset, I’m not trying to make you upset if you’re for some reason under that impression. I’m just trying to explain to you, that you weren’t duped, tricked, or cheated in any way. If you’re going to buy gift cards to store money instead of just saving cash, then you need to make sure in the future that the store you’re buying the gift cards for actually sells whatever it is you’re trying to buy. You made an assumption, and the fault lies with you, not Sony. The “and more” on the card refers to lots of things, like music for instance, but it still only applies to things actually sold on the store. It’s a digital storefront, and you should’ve checked that before applying the funds.

Your point is well taken, the store and software are not mutually exclusive or they are. I failed to understand, that the hardware department and the software department were/are separate entities. No who am I kidding, I know the difference. If we used substitution in this analogy, would it hold water. The card is a product of PlayStation, so common sense to me says that if your company has a gift card it should be useable on all things within the company. I was wrong right. It could only be used, in your terms the digital storefront. The verbage you used is exact. Cut and dry: digital storefront...stop. Your verbage, is exact, but this is what is not stipulated in their verbage. There is no guile in your, words, it's exact, but here lies the problem: PS words were not exact. Your telling me the exact place, and what's located in that place correct? Now I will quote the card to you...San serif print right...from left to right...gift card...$50.00 PlayStation logo centered registered PlayStation trademark centered space space centered "Redeem for anything on PlayStation store: games, add-ons, subscriptions and more. Space space centered ps plus logo trademark ps logo trademark on a shopping bag space space 1 pica San serif PlayStation registered plus subscription auto- renews until cancellation. See reverse for details. End of card. I'm a weirdo right, hell, physical things go in bags right? Guarantee, the verbage changes and the shopping bag is removed.
Redeem for anything on PlayStation store
Want to know what's not on the PlayStation store? If it said "Redeem for any PlayStation product", then you would have a point. But it doesn't. It's usable exclusively for goods on the PSN store. You didn't check what products are available on the PSN store before buying the gift card. That's on you, not them. If you really think they're going to redesign the PSN card just because you had a single bad experience, then you're full of yourself. Especially considering you're on some obscure corner of the internet that they're not even monitoring. To them, you're just a drop in the ocean. This all means literally nothing to them.

I've enjoyed the joust but I'm out
