Please don't incorporate exotic missions into the main story
Please don't incorporate exotic missions into the main story
Exotic missions are difficult and cannot be completed solo, so I would prefer that they not be incorporated into the main story.
If they are incorporated, I would like them to be able to respawn, or have FT matching be the default like strikes.
I think it would be best to make them a side quest rather than incorporating them into the main story.
I don't need exotic weapons, so please let me see the main story to the end.
I'd prefer that high difficulty be limited to raids and dungeons.

11 RepliesEven tho this is clearly rage bait... The game gives you ALL the tools to succeed. It tells you what burns are active. What does more damage to you. Mission is basically a strike. You can't complete solo? There's 2 options of fireteam finder. There is no excuse not being able to complete almost ANYTHING the game offers you. Wanna run stuff solo? Get good enough to do so! Not good enough? Fireteam finder! I swear, all these excuses is just your ego getting in the way. Self sabotage at it's finest.

1 ReplyEven though I purchased the DLC, I couldn't complete the main story in EP1 because of the exotic missions. The same goes for EP2. Once the third act starts, I have to do exotic missions again. I'm already fed up. My hope is that I can at least see the main story through to the end without any stress.

Also checkpoints that are closer together It seems they've really forgotten how to do those after halo 3.

Definitely can be completed solo. Yes they are harder than a strike but isn’t a story with no challenge super boring?

While I have completed Solo Expert runs for the majority of Seasonal/Episodic Exotic Missions, higher difficulty completions have never been requirements to progress their respective Storylines, and as such are best left as a footnote in this discussion. While I'm like 99% sure this is rage bait. The conclusion is right for all the wrong reasons. The missions being tied to the story means they MUST be easier or casual players who just want to do the story and call it a day won't be able to complete them and will then get upset. Separating them from the story will allow Bungie to make them more challenging for the players who wanted more exotic missions like whisper/zero hour. While also not preventing players who are not as strong of players finish the story.

4 RepliesYou're right other than can't be completed solo, some are tricky but the new one is very simple. Use 100 resil, resist mods, that primary stasis area grenade launcher, the witherhoard one, graviton lance, a machine gun & watch a video. Don't worry about dying, practice, it'll feel good when you complete it.

Edited by Salty-47: 1/21/2025 9:54:09 PMThey can be completed solo, seeing as how me and a lot of others have already done them solo. They will also still be a part of the story when the mission is tied to the story. They also do allow respawns in a vast majority of the mission.
