They’ve stated multiple times that ELO isn’t their only parameter.

Honestly as much as I dislike Bungie and can place a lot of fault on them this particular issue is a problem with player population (which is indirectly Bungies fault anyways lol). For example if Bungie wanted to make a game with people all around my skill level it would take days to make a match and that’s if they could make one at all. Even if there was 100,000 players magically injected into the game it would still be incredibly difficult to make a game with people all around my skill level. Now imagine that but the game population is at the lowest it has ever been since the launch of the game. Where else is Bungie going to put players like me? This is exactly why SBMM and Outlier Protection are horrible systems (this and the plethora of other reasons). The MOMENT I click “launch” I have instantly ruined the game for MINIMUM 6 people, and IF Bungie find someone near my skill level who happens to be playing at the same time they will lobby balance by putting them on the enemy team so now the game is ruined for 12 people. Why? All because I decided I wanted to play a game of IB. This is why casual games have used CBMM for years. It just makes sense. Trying to match people in a casual game based on “skill” or “outliers” is such a garbage and horrible idea ESPECIALLY when the population is as low as it is in Destiny 2. The problem wouldn’t be as bad if Destiny had 1 million players, but sadly we’re not even close to breaking 50k on steam, hell some days there’s only a few thousand people playing pvp. You unironically can find games from 2004 that have triple or quadruple the amount of players Destiny has.

Bwhaha …..last time I’ve been on the same trio just dominating playing like trials crack head getting their kills ….why? Do tournaments to earn cash at least ! Instead spending hours and hours doing the exact same thing over and over . Just seems weird lurking around in a dying PvP game with such sweaty skills 🤷🏼‍♂️
