What exactly does BattlEye do?
I'm seeing multiple cheaters within one hour and I don't understand how. The population is so low, you'd think that'd mean it would faster to ban cheaters.

Anti Cheat systems are completely useless once people use VPN.

It lets Bungie see all the files on your computer.

The amount of cheaters is unbelievable, even if you play something "casual" like control (with all the sbmm it's not casual at all). You play comp, trials, control, you find cheaters. It's so frustrating to start the game, launch control playlist, be put in disjunction/vostok/citadel (terrible maps) and play cheaters. It's the whole experience.

6 RepliesHonestly, I’ve never identified someone as cheating. I see a lot of these posts, surely where there’s smoke there’s fire but I also think it’s a little embellished. I can only speak on PS, PC may be different but this is a non issue.

2 RepliesEdited by Bertram253: 1/10/2025 8:47:18 PMI didn't do any specific research, this is purely based on general information on anti cheats: - listen to game input, keyboard, mouse with key used and timestamps - listen to the network communication packet going on the ports used - gets some combat analytics from the game client - compares all this data continuously against a confidence model, probably more and more ai based. - tags suspicious moments, and trigger different responses based on different thresholds: auto report user, add them to a ban list, ... The fist thing cheat makers do is usually prevent the anti cheat from reporting afaik, but there are way more clever techniques ofc.

2 RepliesIt’s the “liability insurance” of gaming. You can still drive, but don’t expect them to do anything if you get hit or you hit someone else. They just got it to say they had an “anti-cheat” system.

Bans the super obvious cheaters automatically. The subtler ones still get through and rely on extremely questionable reporting. Because if it kills you the gun is either OP or someone is cheating.

Bungie sees nothing wrong here lmfao

2 RepliesIt steals resources from your PC to make your game run slower, so you need to buy better hardware to play the game because its very CPU limited. That is what BattleEye does...

3 RepliesBattel eye doesnt work. Bungie had to use the court system to go after the developer of the cheats. If Battle Eye worked they wouldnt have had to use the justice system.

The golden apple rolled down the hill and into a ditch, then over a period of time became completely infested with toxic diseased maggots and riddled in virus carrying fleas & then consumed by a rat who bit the villager and spread bubonic plague throughout the community ... 5 Repliesbattleye is a dog water tier anticheat, there's a reason that games like cod use their own nowadays, BE is underdeveloped and requires licensing from the studio...bngie just didnt want to keep their security team paid so they fired everyone and switched to BE a couple years ago. Cheating was less when the ingame anticheat was good. BE is used by a lot of other games so the cheaters all collaborate and share how to bypass it.
