I will start at the beginning of my guardian story. I am a disabled veteran with stage 3 symptoms of CTE due to TBIs. During one of my neurology courses to adapt, my doctor recommended video games as physical therapy (help build new neural pathways or something) to help slow the progression. So, the family and I took a trip to Bestbuy, and I got the ps4/destiny combo just after Christmas the year it came out. Started playing as a titan ( warlock now) and started meeting players from the community. My first exotics were Icebreaker and the Glass House. Man, the Glass House was fugly. But, I needed it to be max level. These got me through my first NF, which is funny. I met a small group of guys that got me through the endgame. Mind you, this is after Crota came out. They take me through my first NF. Archon Priest. So, of course, Icebreaker got me through it. IYKYK. We finally take him down after a few wipes, old school wipes, and the rewards drop. I'm happy and confused, being it's my first time, ohhh, but the other guys. They are upset. One is absolutely livid. I ask if everything is alright, and the calmer of the two quietly tells me, "You just got Gjallerhorne." Huh? Yeah, that happened. One of the best memories I still have. So, through the years, I play through D1and move on to D2. Slowly I had to stop going on raids because of memory and coordination issues. I have to concentrate on one or the other. Then my 2.5+- kd starts dropping, so no more pvp for me. I need a carry for dungeons. Here I am, just turned 44 and starting to struggle with strikes. Now, I'm not here for pity, maybe a little. J/k. I just want to thank this game and community for being a big help personally to my family and I. You have helped give me more lucid time with my family. So I thank you. And thank you for putting up with me when playing with me. Damn it, I didn't expect to get emotional. Aight, peace out, everyone.
