Completely disagree with implementation of increased difficulty by Bungie. Increased difficulty is fun for a lot of people as seen in some recent releases, the problem is that just jacking up the damage numbers, enemy density, and enemy health can only do so much to make something difficult before it feels like cheese. The real way they could bring difficulty back would be improved AI for enemies, new enemy types (which at least they are doing this one), and new mechanics.

1 ReplyImo the game isnt and never has been (somewhat recently) hard and just because the enemies are tankier and theres more of them doesnt mean its harder, just means its more annoying and a waste of time. Ghosts of the Deep is a perfect example of something not being hard, just annoying because of the endless spawning ads that take way too many shots to kill for a minor let alone the majors or light bearers. The only hard part about that dungeon is doing damage to the wizard boss consistently because of how much she moves

1 ReplyDifficulty at the high end feels great. They shouldn't have tuned NM patrols up as high and lower end content should've remained for people who can't handle or simply don't want the increase. But enemy density has been such a welcome addition IMO. Obviously raising enemy health and damage is a uniform way to raise difficulty. Fairly standard across the industry. I mean most harder difficulties, especially in shooters, boil down to you dealing less damage and taking more. Whether that's increased enemy health or decreased player damage output, it ends up being the same. And to the things you mentioned that they could do, there is no AI change to make enemies harder that people wouldn't also call cheese. If you make the enemies sprint at players, they'll get overwhelmed and cry. If you make them flank people too hard, they'll get overwhelmed and cry. If you make them utilize cover fire more often, they'll cry. Anyway you cut the cake, someones going to be upset.

They can always do the little servitor trick that happened when the black armory was first released. Those who were there remember.

1 Replyits tedious. I uninstalled recently because the game is boring, difficult or not. Here's 3, tiny, boring, lifeless zones arranged in a circle. Hers the same boring quests and bounties. Let's grind out light level to survive bullet sponge enemies. "This sucks" indeed.

1 ReplyNew enemies? One new enemy this whole year, right? The Torrmentor?

2 RepliesI've always thought it was weird that a community that does everything in its power to remove/ avoid difficulty would ask the developers to increase difficulty in said game.
