10,104 hour player sharing opinion on state of destiny
First of all I want to say I love and play destiny 2 and thought I always would but am starting to rethink that. I’ve played since d1 house of wolves up to season 23 of d2. The state of the game is AWFUL, the meta’s are too strong, cheaters and ability spam are ruining PvP, and PvE content is dry and annoying. I wish you guys would rewind the in game content back 4 years to 2020. Back then I felt like I could get on my Xbox and genuinely have a good time with friends or just by my self, I could play crucible and not ONLY face players that have 500 flawless with a 3.0kd, I could play PvE and actually understand the lore and enjoy the story. Now I feel that whenever I play PvE content it’s just “go here and kill this guy for loot”, there doesn’t seem to be any story anymore and if there is it’s too complicated and in depth for the average player to understand and enjoy. Nobody plays the game anymore because they genuinely enjoy it, they play it because they still have hope that it can be turned back into the gem it once was.
Hopefully this message/opinion reaches someone with authority that will take time out of their day to read. And to anyone who may read this, please tell me if you agree.

Bungie once had a ‘dream project’ that was Destiny. The desire/love for that dream has long since died within Bungie HQ. These days the amount you’ve played isn’t Bungie’s primary concern. They care about how much 💵💶💷💴 you’re prepared to throw at Eververse on an ongoing basis. -

That is a subjective argument and personally is just completely wrong. You may not enjoy the game anymore yet that doesn’t mean everyone feels the same way. I for one actually still enjoy playing the game and plenty of other people feel the same way. I however take breaks from the game and actually play different games. This is what a lot of players should do.

All the people with "authority" who have an actual saying at Bungie dont even know that there are sources of player feedback. They dont even know this forum exists. They dont know how a controller works nor what destiny is about. They know its a video game and that people buy said video game. The more the people buy, the more satisfied those guys are. Thats literally all they care about. So yea pretty pointless to try and reach anyone at this company cause they always just "listen" yet never hear anything anyways.

1 ReplyBrother i play for 5k hours and took a break here and there but the game died for having battlegrounds in the nightfall rotation . If there would be only nightfalls in the nightfall rotation then the game would be fine and i would still play everyday . Pvp is a mess that you cannot fix .. Even if they nerf that what is broken and fix pvp then it would take a week for the pvp nerds to find something that is broken and OP to abuse it untill it gets nerfed . Some streamers even make videos about it and like that just destroy the pvp experience for the whole season . Pvp is like a kindergarden playground .

13,572 We need anti-cheat... we need something like Anybrain. The seasonal kiosk loop, I don't like that... I really like the story though. Every season (now episode) should be like Splicer, imo... on that level. I want a cadence like that. Systems and mechanics (PvE) are the best they've ever been. I still love playing, that's where I'm at. I'm kinda' on a break... finishing up Liberty City, then BG3... but I'll be logging in fairly regularly until the end of the season starting tomorrow. 😇 👍💠

2 RepliesI enjoy it. Getting caught up on content with my daughter has put everything under new light for me. Bottom line.....Destiny has been huge, and with billions up In billions of play hours. This game, for better or worse will always be in the conversation. No. I'm not blanket defending. Just calling it as-is. I'm part if the abandoned PvP crowd. But its a beautiful game and I've been in it for 10 years.....looking forward to Final Shape and beyond with Episodes. For me, there's plenty of PvE content. It'll be interesting to see where this PvP goes....some of the issues are easy fixes. I can see some of the strides made to get there.....maybe it'll come together in the end. We'll see.
