Go back to D1 if you’re sick of D2
Been back for a couple weeks and loving it. Nearly forgot what it’s like to enjoy Destiny. Crucible is so much more balanced. The maps absolutely slap. OG mars is nuts. Changing scopes is great. Ranking up with the vendors is great.
The fps and fov are not great. But the art design still shines through and makes for a beautiful game.
Just throwing this out there for anyone interested. I imagine most folks won’t see this as it’ll be downvoted by D2 players. But worth a shot. Play a game you actually enjoy

Opinions will vary but from reading the replies and playing the game Destiny 1 is the better game. Sure there are some features Destiny 1 doesn't have but that's to be expected being an older game that hasn't been updated in years. Although there are some things that Destiny 2 will never have like a foundation, something to build off of to move the game forward. A foundation is one of a few things that Destiny 1 has that will always outweigh Destiny 2.

1 ReplyI tried just now. Pvp times out 3 times without finding a single other person 1/12 the whole time. On the current rotator combined arms. Tried Siva strikes, same thing ran one solo up to the boss before someone joined. Controls felt clunky but got used to it quick and it all came back. Ranked up dead orbit and forgot how rewarding D1 used to be, D2 ain't got -blam!- on D1. I was able to select weapons as a reward and got 3 legendaries. Verdict, D1 still better than D2.

We have a handful of good maps, and then we have maps that literally make other players back out because they are awful and heavily weighted. Dysfunction, cathedral, and citadel have their place in rift, but the spawn locations destroy all fun that could be had. Bungie removed a lot of solid maps from early D2 days and what did we get in return? Dysjunction. It’s almost like “they heard our complaints and are listening” but hey what do I know. Remember per Bungie “they kept the right people” …. 4 Billion dollar company by the way.

You know what? I did this for a couple of days and it was enjoyable tbh.... even if it did Take a minute to get used to 30fps and old FoV. I will say that while D2 has many QoL improvements, there's just something about playing D1 again that made it fun.

1 ReplyMan... I've return to play D1, for a month ago. The felling "There something wrong with D2" is huge. I can't explain what. There are improves, of course, but there is no more of "space magic" bound in D1 soul.

Oh my God what a difference I have to learn how to play the whole game again I never realize how bad the graphics sucks but I still love the game. So glad to have D2 thousand times better but I’m old and I love nostalgia.

Might have to redownload D1. Monster Hunter World has been keeping me busy, but I do get the craving for a complete Destiny gameplay experience without all the…unfortunate extras and content vaulting.
