Hunter strand. O.P

We all know it is. With the endless spam of threadlings that literally deal 50 damage each. Hunters get 2 grenades and 2 dodges. Talk about over kill can literally spam them endlessly. And sometimes you can’t even shoot the threadlings due to a glitch. Play nerf bungie.

  • You're high. The only nerf strand hunter needs is removing the disorient from grapple melee I can't remember the last time I was killed by a threadling. You people are the same ones that said Stompees were too strong because you couldn't look up

          • Strand Hunter main here- Assuming that you just mean in PvP... First, the extra dodge is nice, but that's from an exotic, not the class. Also, between the threadling weapon perk, the artifact perk, and I think maybe a class fragment, it's entirely possible a lot of them aren't from grenades. That said, I've been running trials all weekend and even with the extra charge, I'm lucky if I can throw four grenades in five rounds and haven't popped a super at all- zero supers in I don't even know how many rounds (I checked, it's 19.) For full disclosure, I'm 100% a filthy casual, a bad console player, and I tend to hover somewhere between absolute trash and painfully mediocre, and as such, I accept that I'm basically cannon fodder for both PC and competent console players, but I don't think it's reasonable to go nerfing anything before they get cheating back under control- which, in my opinion, is a way bigger problem.

            • It sounds more like a threadling problem than a hunter strand problem. Though I do think it may have been a mistake to give double grenades to the non grapple grenades.

                  • Definitely take faceing 3 strand hunters over 3 stasis locks or 3 bubble titans anyday. Stand is easy to defend against. Just shoot or jump or run.

                    • Threadlings are an annoyance and when everyone is using them, it gets very tedious but they aren’t hard to avoid and they don’t do much damage. No nerf needed just get better at countering them.

                      • Just nerf the Decoy, NOT the threadlings. If Threadlings were the core issue, Strand Warlock and Strand Titan would be more popular.

                      • I use threadlings in PvP a lot now this last month or so after seeing someone else use them. I like it, but I don't think it's OP, or maybe i'm just using them wrong. In my opinion, they're really good for cleanup. They come in handy when i'm caught in a reload, but have the enemy weak, threadling will take care of it. If my threaded spike is ready, I'll throw a threadling nade out, then the spike, those two usually get a single kill. They definitely aren't good enough to rely on kills by themselves, in my opinion. So many times, I'll see 2-3 enemies grouped up close, I'll rush in, throw both threadling nades and back up, hoping that'll get at least one kill, only to have all but one threadling go to an enemy, while the other 4-5 just climb up a wall and either get shot or just disappear.

                      • My suggestions: Thread of Generation - 1/2 energy gains in PvP only. Strand Clone - Increase cooldown to match acrobat’s dodge and adds a 1.5s arming time before detonation.

                        • I think Threaded Spectre could do with a once over. Outside of that I don't think anything on Hunter is any more or less busted than a strand option on another class.
