I thought it was going around that they might actually be expanding the build crafting skill/ dedication gap. You would almost have to assume that they'd have to make room for the new like they always do if they were going to do that.
Also, the guns might end up more powerful which could also be a reason to expand that build crafting skill/ dedication gap.

And really? The guns suck... ? 😜 QS, Trinity Ghoul... has anyone tried Sturm since the HC buff, Lumina? We do have some meh ones... or vestiges of the past that don't hold up (Mida Multi Tool), gimmicky weapons like Hierarchy of Needs that really struggle to find a seam. But then you have Graviton Lance, Riskrunner (a super in a gun). Outbreak Perfected... How many weapons should I list... that's not every good exotic primary yet? Where are all these weapons that suck? Remember when arbalest was top of the heap? Now what? Wishender... it's kinda good, lol.

I just picked up Traveler's Chosen and Cryosthesia from the Monument in anticipation for next season; worst case scenario they wind up in the vault. So far, I kind of like them though.

They're both fantastic... great choices, Cryo takes a little practice because it feels a little different/weird... A little like Devils Ruin, imo. Traveler's Chosen... is my favorite exotic sidearm...

I need to practice with the freezing blast; the timing is a little weird, but I'll figure it out while I complete the catalyst. Traveler's seems solid enough; I thought it might come in handy with the whole "refills abilities" perk on it. In a wacky turn of good fortune, the catalyst for it dropped on the on the first strike I ran so I should have that one wrapped up in time for next season as well. I pulled Devil's Ruin and Tresspasser from my vault and I'll be honest, I've always liked Tresspasser. Devil's Ruin, not so much. But maybe I'll put in some time with it the next few days and change my tune. 🤷♂️
