Dude what are you talking about? In making the music for anything the composer is literally the most important person. The most talented players are meaningless without well-written music to play. They play exactly what is written for them so why would the quality not drop if the expert writer disappeared?

Writing music takes extreme skill, that's why composers get the credit for writing great music in movies. You know what a composer is right?

So you'd say the geniuses of a well working car would be the factory workers, not the designers who tuned everything perfectly? You have to have a special mind and brain to MAKE music. Anyone can play music, thats why orchestras and bands for composed lyricless music are so large. And most modern game music is done digitally, so no one is really playing Bungie's music, it's generally done on a computer, unless its live at a game show

Trust me, it’s not as hard as writing good music for almost a hundred players. If you’ve ever taken a music theory class you would know why.

I already have for three instruments. It's not easy, but definitely not as difficult as writing songs let alone hours of soundtracks for a video game.

Also, you realise Salvatori is also an expert musician in terms of playing instruments too, right? Most composers are, because it's hard to compose good music without having an understanding of the instruments that play it, of which there are dozens. Way harder than learning to play a single instrument.
