Why as a solo do I end up versing massive pre-made stacks? Bungie have implemented and tweaked a failed SBMM system again and again making connectivity worse every step of the way, yet as a solo you are still punished in any game mode that doesn’t have a freelance option, without Bungie doing anything about it. The worst part is that the mercy rule doesn’t kick in when there are 1 and 2 players left on a team LMAO, then it continues to trickle people in 1 at a time and they all leave. All playlists should have automatic freelance, I don’t even want to verse a duo team shotting, pincering and comming as a solo.
Bungie wants to reduce the number of mercies in quickplay? Stop having solos verse stacks! It’s actually bewildering that bungie don’t look at the results and see a team of solos verses a 5-6 stack, see that 12 people have quit that game and it ends in a mercy. Group size should have heavy priority above all else when searching since Bungie have shown they care little about connection issues large groups can find another equally sized stack on the other side of the world with 280 ping if they have to. If bungie want to target something that absolutely wrecks player experience than it’s massive pre made groups in quick play.

18 RepliesIt's literally strict sbmm and fireteam based mm..... 4 man's match 4 mans. 5 man match 5 mans. 6 mans match 6 mans. Sbmm has killed the Playlist. Over a month left in the season 200k pvp players. Last Day of Cbmm Season of Haunted was 287k.... All we got Season of Haunted was a reskinned public event....

Your issue is with quitter penalty. Regardless of what happens the mm is always poo

Fireteam based mm is already active but it’s not a hard set rule. If it was strictly enforced then the queue times would be astronomical due to sbmm and a dying playerbase.

Freelance is in other places could be a solution here. Bungie try to get good MM and splitting pools works against this though.

2 RepliesOh no. People are playing a multi-player game with other people. How upsetting.

They talked about it in some of their posts. I suggest you go back and read them, as they were very informative on how they want the loose-sbmm to work. Basically, with loose SBMM- they will try to match solo vs solo of similar skill. If they can’t find a match they will match similar teams, 3v3 then fill in with solo or duo pairs. They might even have one team of 3+ 3 solos vs a full team of 6. Whatever they think is the fairest match while also going quickly.

You CANNOT have sbmm without proper team balancing. Period.
