Guardians, do you think this would a good improvement?

3 RepliesYes. Bungie can look at the data and rework maps that are never picked.
-
This should’ve already have been a thing

1 ReplyMap voting straight up ruins games, period. Even if the majority of the population are nuts and can live in 1 map over and over until the code dries up, it leaves people pissed that that map isn't their 1 map etc. I love playing widow court but playing 30 times in a row takes away its joy. I hate burnout, but you want to force me to play it 90% time = lost player. It's simply a bad idea and there is a reason games don't implement it even if people want it.
-
1 ReplyAt least let us select a planet and play the maps from there.
-
2 RepliesI'd rather Bungie let us vote on Map Weighting, that way more popular maps are played more often
-
Not interested. Because I know there'll be alot of maps I like that I'll never get to play because they'll lose in voting. This is also what got me really bored of other PvP games that have map voting because now you're stuck in a cycle of way too much overexposure to the most popular maps and when those soon become boring to play, people just stop playing.
-
4 RepliesNo i dont want it. In games where we have it i mostly only see the 3 same maps over and over again, i prefer random maps
-
Honestly I don’t know on one hand people can choose which is a good thing but on the other hand given enough time people will get fed up of seeing the same maps being chosen over and over etc etc.
-
1 ReplyI think it would be too many options, as getting 12 people, or even 8 people, to agree on one map would not be easy.
-
My only concern with map voting is i don't want another "nuketown 24/7" I get people enjoyed the map, but every time the map was available to vote for, over half the lobby flocked to it.
-
Great idea!

1 ReplyEdited by GMDeece7: 9/15/2022 12:45:51 PMNo one probably remembers this, but there USED to be map voting in destiny 2, year 1 I believe. It was removed for the fact that the same maps would always be voted on again and again and again, lowering variety of maps being played and therefore hurting replayability. No one would ever choose long range maps like Vostok if map vioting returns, as shotguns, even with a nerfs in game, are still relatively the most used special weapon in game. One of the biggest reasons long range maps are typically despised in destiny, is because they don’t cater to close range weapons. There’s actually a pretty good chance map voting will never return, as Bungie doesn’t want the same 3 or 4 maps being chosen every time in pvp by everyone, which would probably 75%-90% of the time be catered to close range play, therefore negating pretty much all long range weapons in the crucible more or less. The only way I’d see them returning map voting, is if Bungie actually gave incentive to vote on long range maps in game, such as increasing rep gains for playing on unpopular maps, have a higher chance of a playlist drop (or multiple playlist drops), or having something to earn by voting for less popular maps.

I want less resources spent on PvP
-
People will still quit, sure its a much needed feature but its not going to make pvp any better.
-
This wouldn’t fix anything we’d still be playing the same maps over and over and we already play the same maps over and over
-
1 Replywith the implementation of SBMM and Quitting Penalty, I think the next two steps should be map voting and End Match rewards

Yesn’t

Edited by rolluptherim: 9/15/2022 5:37:45 PMThe DISFUNCTION map is more running around trying to find other players than actually playing. Twilight Gap is all 1 team up and 1 team hiding underneath. The new map (which is actually a really old map) didn't work before and doesn't work now. People leave because matchmaking is stupid. Especially when you get put into the middle of a match and it's 82 to 12. No wonder they leave

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
I will vote cathedral of dusk because I like being back on the Dreadnought, I don't care how it plays -
1 ReplyNo, bigger maps Will be completely excluded. Well cuz people love Hand Cannons and Shotguns.

There’s pros and cons to the system. Unless you’re able to vote with a list of every map there may still be times when the only maps to vote for are maps a player refuses to play on. If they leave before the game is launched then there is a chance to backfill them before that. Also not everyone hates the same maps. I actually don’t hate disjunction. At times I’d prefer play it over other maps. But what happens when voting ends and Disjunction wins out and the game launches? There may be at least one person that quits. There’s also the risk with so few maps that too many people just vote for the same 3 or 4 maps, and that’s all you ever get to play. Some may like that, but when it happens randomly now, I sometimes don’t even mind playing maps I don’t like just to get some variety. Then there is what if I dislike a map that every likes. I could be forced to play it even more than I do now. Or the reverse where a map I do like that others don’t almost never gets picked. Also what happens in a tie. Some games just pick one at random. And then I forget which game, maybe Halo, where the tie always goes to the top oriented map in the vertical listing of the two. So you better hope the map you wanted wasn’t the bottom of the two every time in a tie. You’d lose every time.

Bungie hates giving players a choice and that kind of futuristic technology just isn't achievable.
-
Votes yes, but I'd rather prefer kinda Blacklist of 3 or 4 maps, I don't want to play.
-
Map voting should work like this, your first map, no vote, you are tossed in, if you stay in the lobby you vote on the next match. All those who stay in the lobby get a vote. If you are not going to continue in the lobby, you don't get a vote. This will encourage players to stay in the lobby where less searching for guardians is necessary and provides a further incentive to stick it out with the lobby you have. In case of a tie, randomly chooses. Perhaps give a choice of 3-4 randomly picked maps as there are several to choose from and with only max 12 people, you could theoretically get a vote for 12 different maps

I remember making the same post late 2014 early 2015 It won’t happen, destiny pvp is meaningless Bungie has been hinting at this for a while now
