The Iron Banner this past week was just that...weak. Bungie threw the PvP sweats and You Tube communities a big fat steak, not a bone. Four Pinnacles tied to this activity supplied the "wolves" with a target rich environment. Iron Banner should not give additional perks to the players that are great already.
In general, the PvP experience is not enjoyable for the casual player, but without them it is not enjoyable for the You Tube and sweats communities, because it is no fun getting waxed and no fun without players to wax...tough problem to solve. I get it. Maybe Bungie should take the Tiktok approach. Not everything you see on Tiktok is good, most are boring or stupid. You swipe by 10 items or so until you get a good one. (there is a addiction/psychology process in this method, but that is a different subject) Maybe you play at skill level most of the time, but every 5 matches or so thr "wolves" can hunt...no skill level matchmaking,
Just a thought. In am done with any non-skill based PvP, pinnacles or not. Have fun storming the castle. Try running Eruption with no pinnacles...lol.

I had a pretty good time in eruption personally. I played a mix of both freelance and non freelance ib. Just like in rift, it feels like your experience in eruption depends on randos. Some games have good randoms, others have bad randoms, it is what it is. If their good, your team will snowball with supers and such, if their bad and loose their 1v1s, the enemy’s team will roll you with supers. Seen quite a few opinions on eruption, and looks like people either absolutely love this gamemode, or hate it with seemingly no middle ground lmao

Honestly it was pretty bad.

1 ReplyBruh that mode was fun af. Felt like forsaken pvp when supers and abilities were more abundant. All you crybaby in these forums ruin the game.

2 RepliesEdited by SolarCerberuS: 9/15/2022 12:39:30 AMIm a casual player with average KD and I enjoyed it, Still the self exploding mechanic was a bit frustrating but I know why they did it, pushed players into engaging and stopped the excessive camping that has plagued crash in the past. All in all a fast paced fun game mode imo.
-
2 RepliesMy man. I am a beginner streamer yet my kd is as negative as it can be. I don't think twitch inflates stats. Could be me. Also, apparently there are plenty of people who did enjoy it (Including me) because I would be able to go off on my own.

4 RepliesWhy is it the absolute end of the world for you people when those that are good at PvP get rewarded for being good at PvP? We're allowed to celebrate people that are king's and queens of all things PVE but the moment something rewards PvP skill its the worst thing to ever come into existence? I genuinely see nothing wrong with a game mode that promotes being good, rewards kill streaks and will blow your butt up if you get 5 kills and won't stop camping. And I'm not even that good at the game lol I totally understand some people just wanna play control and that's okay you do you boo, but actively discouraging Bungie from making new modes, and Karen raging at anyone that does happen to like it or be good at it is just plain dumb it's a simple as that.

Its been their best idea in years. But the lobby balancing was still atrocious. Bungie's version of CBMM seems to still be deciding match outcomes before the first shot is fired. Hard to take anything they offer seriously anymore.

1 ReplyEdited by Kiro - 13: 9/13/2022 7:04:35 PMBOO-HOO jimmy no thumbs got farmed in a casual playlist by "decent" or "slight above average" players & calls them hardcore sweats. eruption was fun & getting to play the game casually and not sweat my balls off with slow play was refreshing.

1 Replystop using casual for trash players

3 RepliesEdited by The icon of sin: 9/14/2022 10:29:18 AMImo it was great outside the wallhacks ppl got for just a 5streak. It just caused this situation to happen way too often. "The fire is lit, hunt them guardian".... 0.5seconds later "the hunt has ended" Maybe wallhacks should happen until 10kills. It being cbmm is what makes ib playable. Sbmm doesnt work with p2p. The fact that they implemented sbmm in control is proof that the game devs only listen/care about streamers claim is bogus.

6 RepliesEdited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 9/14/2022 11:19:00 PMI thought it was fun, looked at destiny tracker and the average KD of the lobbies I was in was between 1.1 and 1.6 KD (not KDA) was a mixed Halloween bag of everyone all the time 🤙 That said I looked, you are a .75 (nothing wrong with that) and the lobbies you were in were between .9KD - 1.1 where the majority of your IB lobbies were .9 KD - 1 KD which is around your skill level. So are you saying you don't like playing people around your skill level because it's to sweaty? You want to pub stomp people lower then you? I'm confused https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/bungie/4611686018449008103/overview

1 ReplyDon't try shoving all us casuals into a box, you don't speak for me, I'm casual as heck and love the PvP.
-
Skipped it. I hope they change it soon. 🤞
-
1 ReplyIt was better than Rift, but I hate the exploding part. Hopefully they come up with better ideas. As a newer player, I'd like to earn the ships, ghost, sparrow, etc and get the older armors too.
-
1 ReplyAll i read was cry cry im a baby that cant handle one week of playing with better people before i have to go back to my safe zone
-
3 RepliesGo play control then with players at your level

I personally felt eruption was a good time, by the end of it I had a 2.27 KAD and gilded my iron lord seal. Just gotta find a squad of 6 and u won’t feel like that anymore.
-
Plenty of people enjoyed Eruption. Those content creators did like it too, because it was a break from their sweaty games they’ve had for two weeks in Control. I enjoyed it. Though it felt like battles took place in just a couple locations of each map. Engagements felt less spread out unlike in Control where you are encouraged to move between points on the map. So that could be better. Overall I like control as a game mode more, but eruption was a nice break.
-
3 RepliesYou do realize that there is no way that every game you played was against You Tubers, Twitch, Sweat Lord's, or whoever you wanna blame for your experience. If you don't like it or are not having a good time, do something else. My opinion (I don't speak for the whole community) is the last 2 Iron Banners, Rift and whatever you call this is a breathe of fresh air and I hope they keep changing it up. There were times I got blown out but they were far and few between, but the biggest thing I had was FUN.
-
3 RepliesEdited by livin like larry: 9/13/2022 7:28:44 PMThe addition of sbmm into control was to help casual players. Sbmm already also exists within Elimination and Survival. The flawless pool within trials was added to assist the casual player. Not everything in crucible needs to have some sort of sbmm.

4 RepliesIs ruining control not enough for you people?
-
1 ReplyEdited by A_mo: 9/13/2022 7:56:30 PMYou're just completely wrong about the way that mode works. If someone goes on a 5 kill streak and you kill them you get 5 points. And its far easier to go on a 10 kill streak when you don't have to worry about exploding or having wall hacks attached to you so you end up feeding the other team 5 points. Combine that with the "space magical" shot registration and it simply wasn't nearly as predatory as some people try to say it was.

2 RepliesEdited by HelloImBradIy: 9/13/2022 7:40:32 PMI thought it was glorious, I devoured as many bot walking Jeffrey's as I could. Hell, I died more to explosion timer then I did Guardians. Looking forward to Trials this weekend as well, card ruining all weekend. Going on Safari. Stay in Control where you're safe, too many sharks out here.
-
1 ReplyI loved it Sorry it wasn't fun for you. Head back to SBMM where it's safe.
-
I disagree. I enjoyed it and i'm a casual player. Only thing i disliked about it was it felt like people were scared to engage. A team would just stick to one area of the map, and the other team had to always go to them to fight. Which meant most matches went the distance instead of a team reaching the goal score. I thought the eruption aspect of it would encourage people to fight, i was wrong. But bungie cant fix that, that's all on the players.

Eruption sucked. It’s just Clash with a lame kill-streak mechanic. Clash sucks as it is, Eruption was unbearable. I did two resets, I hope I’ll never play Eruption again.
