Divinity buffs damage by 33% BUT requires one person to not be able to do damage.
That means in a six man team, Divinity only increases overall damage by 16.5%, plus whatever damage the Divinity does itself, which is usually very low compared to the rest of the team.
Divinity does NOT need a damn nerf.

It’s a 30% debuff that can be applied constantly as long as you have ammo and creates a giant bubble so you can be a complete Jim and still maintain good damage. Div is insanely stupid and it’s warrants a nerf. BUT…it should not be nerfed until Bungie buffs other debuffs and fixes PvE flinch. Nothing is worse than charging up a x4 Honed Edge shot just to miss because a dreg shoots me once
That means in a six man team, Divinity only increases overall damage by 16.5%
It's way more than that in practicality. Div puts a giant crit spot on enemies, which pretty much erases the possibility of missing crits.

Edited by Unbreakable Patches: 9/13/2022 3:07:29 PMIt’s a big debuff and a guaranteed 100% crit rating for everyone. Not to mention it completely, utterly invalidates every other debuff. And, like Well, content is designed with it in mind.

2 RepliesBut it’s not just about the damage buff it’s also about how easy it is for the other 5 people to get crit shots, & it is currently the only way to get a constant debuff on a boss. Yes my team uses divinity because it means that we can finish raid encounters quickly but that doesn’t mean I can’t see that it has created a number of issues for Bungie in designing raid bosses & how much health theses bosses need to have to make a raid encounter a challenge (although I don’t actually think that having a boss with a massive amount of health actually makes it a real challenge, having enough ammo to complete an encounter is not a challenge but even this can be negated by using Aeons). Bungie has designed raid bosses around divinity - warpriest is more mobile than in d1 but that has resulted in people doing damage from the platform he stands on to allow perfect line of sight for the divinity user. If Bungie do decide to tone down divinity then IMO they need to also look at the health of current raid bosses because making a raid that currently takes around an hour when using divinity take twice as long is not going to be popular with the majority of the playerbase, including me.

2 RepliesYes it does

Edited by ScriptMania: 9/13/2022 11:40:09 AMExactly this, when i use it i make 1/5th of the damage that my teammates make. And i bet that allot of posters that want it nerfed dont own one, why they want that? I know why but not going to say it. And they prob never did a Raid or a GM and dont know what they are talking about.
That means in a six man team, Divinity only increases overall damage by 16.5%, plus whatever damage the Divinity does itself, which is usually very low compared to the rest of the team.
Divinity makes missing almost impossible. Triple tap and FTTC become incredibly more valuable when you can pretty much guarantee its value. It doesn’t matter if one person’s damage tanks because everyone else will be doing near maximum damage with little effort.
