I really enjoy the games of theirs that I have played which isn't much
Once at a bar someone told my dad about Skyrim, back in like 2012, he got me Skyrim and I have played it since 2014 or 2015 (it was already the new year when he got me it, and near the nee year when he was told about it) I was like 15 or 16 idk. But I absolutely love the game.
I liked Fallout 3, never played the story but liked it
DooM, a absolute favorite of mine cause of the music just alone and the gore
Fallout 4, I got a few days ago and I adore it quite alot, still gotta find Shaun though, I gotta follpw the Freedom trail now.
That is all I have played of Bethesdas games. The only game company I have multiple games from.

The first one I played back in 2016 was Skyrim, fell in love with the game and played it every chance I could get. I always played it vanilla, and I finally got the special edition last year. Took me about 2 years to finish up the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller mission. Then I hobbled over to Oblivion. My character was a Khajit that looked like he’d been stuck in a washing machine, and was a world class boxer. I loved beating the piss out of every thing I could find, the game felt really fleshed out and each interaction with NPCs felt nice. I kinda wish Skyrim delivered that same feeling. Played ESO, didn’t like how everyone’s health showed up as red, it made me think everything was hostile. Coming from Skyrim, that made me very confused and I dropped the game shortly after picking it up. Onto Fallout 4, I got into that one because of Mitten Squad. Love that game, the player dialogue kinda sucks (mainly with companions imo) and I had to install a few mods to help with performance. It’s a real fun game, but at times it leaves you wishing you got more. I’m trying Fallout 76, it’s....playable. I’m far too slow for Doom, I like to be aggressive and kill stuff but I’m too aggressive and I die a lot which makes me feel dumb. Still real fun, combat’s pretty nice.

What is Doom? it sounds doomed...???.??..??????.... My view on Bethesda's latest: 1. Oblivion/New Vegas (Tied) 2. Morrowind. 3. Skyrim. 4. Elder Scrolls Online (Vanilla) 5. Elder Scrolls, Blades 6. Elder Scrolls Online, with DLC 7. Fallout 76
*cringes...*
ESO was nice on release, kinda got boring for me after awhile, it had good crafting for weapons and armor though. Oblivion had my favorite magic setup for spells. Morrowind was great. Skyrim was ok. Fallout New Vegas was my favorite Fallout, definitely on par with my Oblivion rating. Fo4 was literally Skyrim with guns and Far Harbor is literally a Solistheim copy paste since Fo4 is a Skyrim copypasta. Fo4 was only good after it got mods and I made it more like Battlefield but with Star Wars gear. Flopout 76, crafting was ok, gameplay and servers were horrible, they should have copied ESO. I really wish more time and effort was put into it to begin with.

1 ReplyI really enjoyed Doom Eternal, but that was only published by Bethesda so I don't know if I'd personally count that. Skyrim is an example of a game I poured a ton of time into, but I don't know how much I really liked it? The combat specifically never felt good to me.

Edited by Foxlariat: 10/30/2021 11:48:26 AMskyrim is and pretty much has always been my favorite game! in fact, i’ve replayed skyrim so much i can say the dialogue in the introduction quest word for word… about a year after it actually came out, i decided to try fallout 4, and i enjoyed that one too despite several people saying it’s trash. wasn’t trash to me! it was fun! i tried playing oblivion, but all the different menus was a headache to navigate through. i might try to get into it again if i can. fallout 76? we don’t talk about fallout 76. morrowind! i really want to try morrowind but the graphics might get on my nerves… it’s just such an old game. plus, i’d have to find a way to play it anyway. but i’ve heard it’s an excellent game! all in all i enjoy bethesda games, and i can’t wait for elder scrolls 6 to come out!! i can’t wait for starfield too, but i’m still salty over the fact they made it xbox exclusive… thanks a lot microsoft

1 ReplyEdited by Emurinus: 10/30/2021 3:16:23 AMConceptually I love their games. In execution, they're riddled with more bugs than an early access game and sometimes they don't stretch their stories far enough to make them impactful (yes I'm still salty about Fallout 4).

6 RepliesI will list some things -Fallout 4 is a masterpiece, screw y’all -Doom is ID softwares creation, not Bethesda’s -The games are terrible, but I love them so much -Funi mods -Nice weapon design
-
8 RepliesSadly when people think about Bethesda they think about the trash joint developers with them that make trash like doom

1 ReplyI’m indifferent to them. When I think of Bethesda, the first thing that comes to mind is the Elder Scrolls series, or the Fallout series. I thought Oblivion was meh, I enjoyed Skyrim, and hated Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. Of course, Bethesda also makes the likes of Doom, Wolfenstein, the Dishonoured series, Deathloop, and countless other games which I’ve never really played ( I’m not really a FPS guy, so most of their catalog bores me ). The Doom games are fun, and well designed, even if they aren’t really ‘my thing’. I admire the Dishonoured games for their creativity, but I hated playing them ( because of the Chaos system. When is a gameplay choice not really a choice at all, when affects the outcome of the game ). And I have no interest in Wolfenstein or Deathloop. I don’t have anything against them, they just don’t make the type of games that I like to play.

1 ReplyEdited by TheArtist: 10/29/2021 1:16:46 PMI like the concepts behind their games. But their tools are so outdated that their games are buggy messes and their game play is poor and obsolete as a result. -blam!-, the number of versions of Skyrim they keep trying to release is practically a meme. Even Doom feels dated. The only game of theirs I like is ESO, and even that game’s play mechanics are pretty weak. I just hope MS helps them get their act together in time for Starfield….
-
I do while they -blam!- suck. Tough love ikr.
-
Doom and Dishonored are great. The Evil Within 2 was entertaining to watch and I might play the third if there ever is one. Everything else ranges from meh to garbage.
-
Doom. For sure. But the rest, I could take it or leave it
-
Yes, absolutely. Bethesda makes great games, warts considered. I got a Redguard waiting to clap some Draugr Death Overlord cheeks right now. People tend to not revisit crappy games imo.
-
Bethesda makes and publishes some of my favorite games, I really can’t say I’ve disliked any of them. I love the elder scrolls and fallout franchises, I love doom d I’ve played through and enjoyed dishonored.

2 RepliesThey need to get a better engine.

2 RepliesEdited by Cultmeister: 10/28/2021 9:26:10 AMBethesda as a company have got shittier and shittier, and I think their general practise of releasing games riddled with bugs and expecting the community to fix them is frankly outrageous, as well as releasing the same game hundreds of times just because they know they can… But the games themselves are normally pretty good. Oblivion is an amazing game, Skyrim is great, fallouts 3 and 4 are great/good respectively. If New Vegas was a Bethesda game then it would bump it up to absolutely, as it isn’t it’s a solid indeed. I’m interested in starfield but I’m not holding my breath until I see some real content not just a few leaked pieces of concept art; I thought The Outer Worlds was gonna be amazing just because Obsidian were the devs (the guys who did Fallout New Vegas, one of my favourite games), but that turned out bland af. The rumours floating around about New Vegas 2 I am similarly underwhelmed by. All fans really want is a remastered New Vegas.

1 ReplyI think their work on Wolfenstein and DOOM is good, but other than that they’re -blam!- games. Elder Scrolls is lame, I don’t know what 40k is except for the memes, and in general Tom Howard seems to owe most people money.
-
2 RepliesOnce again, I must thoroughly recommend anyone who enjoys Elder Scrolls to play Morrowind. Yes, the game is old, and the combat system is more complicated than swing = hit, but it honestly is the best Elder Scrolls game in terms of narrative, world building, aesthetic, and player freedom. 11/10 you should DEFINITELY play through it at least once if you like Elder Scrolls.
-
2 RepliesBeen playing Skyrim for like 10 years now, yet still no word of Skyrim 2. So that marks them down to “meh”
-
Skyrim PSVR is pretty sick!
-
3 RepliesDishonoured is fun but some of their other games I just can't get into. Elder Scrolls and their Fallouts can be enjoyable. However at this point I've spent way to much time using mods to the point that going back to the base game (especially with Skyrim) can get confusing. As for Bethesda as a company. They used to be ok, but in recent years they've gotten scummy and even more lazy. From listening to modders the engine for ES/Fallout is a patchworked mess with their initial response to 76 being "players are mainly complaining about graphics so lets patch in a new graphics engine". They're even removing the 2015 script engine and adding in the 2019 engine for SSE next month which is set to break some mods.

Oblivion & New Vegas; definitely. Fallout 3 & Skyrim: Meh. I guess. Fallout 4: Absolutely not. Worst game I’ve ever played.

Edited by 2015 Ford Explorer (PIU): 10/28/2021 1:57:49 PMDepends on which particular game we are talking about. If we are talking about all of them.. no I don’t. They have clearly lost the taste for creativity and story telling and now are all about money and etc -but if we are talking about certain games then yes. My most favorites are: ~ New Vegas ~ Skyrim ~ Fallout 2-3

Post "10 Year Creation Club Edition" announcement they can go die in a fire with Activizzard, T2E and their subsidiaries, Gearbox.... I really really do like TES. But they keep forcing the walled garden.

Bethesda lately hasn't been doing too well, they just seem to be a hit or miss when it comes to the games they make now. They have good games, they have bad games, but they certainly aren't the worst devs around these days.

1 ReplyThe most fun I’ve had in a Bethesda game was watching my sister play Oblivion, and that’s only because of how ridiculous that game was. Still, I think it says a lot about a developer that they can release such broken pieces of -blam!-, never patch them, and have people still enjoy them. Even more so that they can release the same broken piece of -blam!- twenty times in ten years and get away with it.
