I swear, bungie will nerf anything if enough people complain about it for enough time, regardless If it's balanced or not.
Back to Handcannons being the only competitive Primary weapon for the 8th year in a row, wooo
Get your fun out of it while you can (If you have it, because bad luck protection is too much to ask for Cough cough Some people have 50 clears and no Vex STILL

I'm pretty sure they had plans for the nerf before they gave it a buff. Buffs never last forever, check the last 6 years of history.

You sound like you ecpect Mythoclast to go back to it's original state. You sound like it's not a problem. I agree that hand cannons are a bit much, and always have, but you don't fix that by making something better to the point of being oppressive. Litterilly most primaries in the game, typically including hand cannons do little to nothing against vex Mythoclast in pvp. Just like when mida was meta. Mythoclast needs a nerf, but not to be butchered. Simultaneously, hand cannons need the same treatment. A nerf, not a murder.

1 ReplyVex is not OP, plain and simple. Its the best "autorifle" out there with the best damage to firerate ratio. Only thing borderline broken is the linear fusion mode and its aim-assist respectively. It has a rather fair ttk making it useless on a few maps and in certain engagements. Nerf the linear mode and this weapon would be in line.

I swear, bungie will nerf anything if enough people complain about it for enough time, regardless If it's balanced or not.
Yep. Bungie is trying to keep its PVP customers happy. Vex has only been meta for 4 months....and its already being nerfed. While AoS has sat atop the Crucible meta for YEARS....and has remained untouched. Hell, it isn't even being COMPLAINED about, even though the weapon is arguably overpowered.

5 RepliesVex Mythoclast’s first nerf on 10/14/14 Patch 1.0.2.2 gave it a 34% reduction in base damage. I’m expecting a 40% reduction in damage. This time, it could be a HUGE nerf.
-
all they have to do to bring it in line is lower the damage at range drop off so that its not out ranging past 35 meters, lower the accuracy of the linear fusion shots past 30 meters cause its basically a free headshot and lower the AA from 100 to 75 or lower, and decrease zoom from 15 to 12. the gun is just way too consistent past 35 meters when it shouldn't. i posted in the forums when vex released in its -blam!- state that all it really needed was crit damage increased to 42 and body shot damage hitting for 30. it didnt need the range buff or the lowered charge rate. it would've been a great competitor in the 20-23 meter range which is in line of an smg whilst still having a presence in long ranges with its linear shots.

1 ReplyEdited by Demonic: 10/17/2021 11:20:13 PMVex always goes through this. One minute people have PTSD from just the sound of it. The next, it takes a week to fire a shot from it. I am always surprised when people think bungie won’t knock something down.
-
2 RepliesSeriously when are hand cannons not gonna be meta, they literally always have been and never have been adjusted the peak shooting is just the basis of this game and hand cannons do it best.
-
Good now do chaperone
-
I never thought of it as being overpowered. Very strong, yes. Not OP though. I can see the LFR mode getting an adjustment I guess. Kinda feels like it aims for you sometimes.

1 ReplyEdited by OhtheHugeManity5: 10/17/2021 5:13:57 AMThey know exactly what they were doing. There's no way that they decided to buff literally every stat on that thing (range, rate of fire, stability and PvE damage), without knowing it would become cracked and inevitably get nerfed. You ask me? They made it powerful for a season as part of a planned seasonal meta, knowing it would increase raid grinding rates and that they could then nerf it later when Gjally comes back because people will just play for that instead. Plus hand cannons are far from the only competitive weapon type. I actually find scouts pretty mean tbh, as long as your opponents are in optimal range.
-
2 RepliesVex isnt even OP, just overused. Beat that rifle with so many other legendaries.
-
Called it. Same thing hey did to it in destiny 1. Brought it back after rise of iron as the games last send off. An got nerfed again. If you forget yourself past your bound to repeat it.

Edited by NoX: 10/17/2021 4:25:59 AMVex is new. Once people learn how to get around it...it will be less of an issue. That said, I get killed by all kinds of weapons that I can't kill with. People don't realize PVP skill is like 9/10 of a kill compared to the weapon you use which is 1/10. I have all the weapons...but I still SUCK at PVP. I'm that 0.3 guy that always drags the team down. Doesn't matter if I use Ace or Tommy. Sometime I get the same weapon out just to go head to head.....AND I still lose. Point...quit the griping about every weapon you get killed by. Or armor piece......or ability.....or....or..... It's not the weapon, the ability or the armor....its your playstyle.

3 Repliesbungie nerfed the ace of spades quest when it came out, forum cried it was too long. was ez. everything gets nerfed

20 RepliesEdited by Sagg: 10/16/2021 1:53:18 AMDear god. Handcannons arent even that strong. Youre talking to a player base that has had countless hours to play and perfect aim in this game specifically. Vex makes all that go out the window unless you play cracked out of your mind. Its fine to punish people who are out of position or not playing cover properly but your gun shouldnt be doing the heavy lifting for that. That punishment needs to be learned from playing the game. You should learn to punish that with any weapon. No weapon should punish you for engaging. The term win your ones has been around for a while and it refers to being able to hit your shots with PRECISION. Not spray and pray. Kellygreen said below that fps gamers dont value being able to track a target. False. We value being able to track your target WHILE hitting precision shots. Tracking the target is a given. Hitting precision targets is not

1 ReplyDid they confirm it’s being nerfed? Where?
-
3 RepliesAnd yet, ace still gets to slip by unnerfed. Typical bungie. Leaving op noobcannons untouched and instead nerf the perfectly fine vex.
-
2 RepliesLiterally just needs a range nerf that’s it. They said they wouldn’t nerf it to the ground so I assume range will just be nerfed
-
22 Replies140s are still stronger and vex gets nerfed for usage. Of course it will get used, it's a strong novel auto/fusion that is strong and is not a hand cannon. For anyone that has it and wants to use an auto, it's an obvious choice. Hopefully they don't destroy it and only nerf the linear fusion aspect for pvp.
-
7 RepliesI cannot wait for the noob rifle to catch a nerf its so corny
-
4 RepliesYou think hand cannons are the only meta primaries right now?
-
Way overdue, I was getting bored of the Vex anyway haha
-
6 RepliesLiterally every primary is good if you use it the right way.
-
Paired with the eventual departure of particle deconstruction its going to be a bounties weapon again.
