When ever i mention they should have 2 6v6 playlist one sbmm and one cbmm why do they always wanna fight about it. Me i don't care i play i get stomped i play more i just like the game. But there are many others new and who just hate pvp and want sbmm and don't say competitive because they don't want that mode either. so make a split 6v6 sbmm and cbmm and if sbmm does better and cbmm has long wait times well i guess that tells you something you already know but dont want to admit or i could be wrong. But they need to do something better i just don't get why some people don't want any change to the way it works right now.

37 RepliesBecause they know that if you give most players a choice between CBMM and SBMM, that the vast majority of them will choose SBMM. So a SBMM playlist will siphon off the weaker players that they want access to so that they can “relax” and not have to “sweat” playing against. They only way they get the conditions they want is when everyone is forced to play under CBMM conditions. So they can pubstomp and farm weaker players. But it slowly destroys the game...

10 RepliesEdited by parallelish: 5/12/2021 1:10:18 PMFor any match making system to be "good" the first thing you need it a large and healthy player pool. When I say healthy I mean players that consistently play pvp, not a large group that plays 3 matches a week for a powerful drop. D2 doesn't have a large and healthy player pool. The second thing a good system needs is to use an algorithm that groups players by BOTH connections and skill levels. Connections should be slightly more weighted because it doesn't matter if everyone is on the same skill level if everyone is lagging and rubber banding no one is going to have fun. In typical bungie fashion they resort to one extreme or the other over finding a good middle ground. bungie knows pvp is waning in popularity partly due to their lack of meaningful updates to it, but with less and less people playing there isn't much they can do to improve the match making unfortunately.

14 RepliesCBMM advocates don't get scared. They use logic and reasoning and realize that splitting the playerbase limits the potential and effectiveness of any matchmaking system on place. Creating purely seperate CBMM and SBMM playlsits essentially sets both up for failure.

4 RepliesNice bait! It don't take much out here to rustle all the jimmies. In all honesty, the only people I ever remember advocating for CBMM were streamers. Most online games you play use SBMM, or some form of it. I think this game is designed just to see what parts of the player base eat each other over what. A psychological experiment, if you will. Have a good day!

11 RepliesSometimes I wish they would put them side by side so people could remember how SBMM actually works.
-
They should have a “World’s First” pvp thing based on a player’s stats with no meta. That is a stream I would pay to watch. It would be interesting to see true pvp matches as opposed what is currently passing as pvp.

3 RepliesIf you really didn't care, why make this post? SBMM means longer matchmaking times and more lag. No thank you
-
1 ReplyThey have both three seasons ago and it was a spectacular success. However all the streamers and low life POS sweaty cowards cried and whined about their inability to farm blueberries, their ELO ratings dropping along with their precious KD ratios. So they went crying to Bungie like the little whiny babies they are and demanded that it be removed. So enjoy your lag infested CBMM sheit show

3 RepliesBoth playlists would be awful connection wise... Sbmm will put people from all over the world in a lobby making it an awful experience... The fodder will stay away from cbmm meaning it would be as above Sbmm only helps the lowest lowest skill tier anyway

2 RepliesOr I would just rather play a game that matches quickly and isn’t with Timmy in Australia when I’m in US

13 RepliesEdited by Dredgen Araphel: 5/11/2021 5:40:35 AMCbmm is just for elitist dirtbags to feel good about beating up on those weaker than them.

1 ReplyI wish they would drop a halo style pvp mode (plz don’t compare halo pvp to vanilla D2 pvp it’s not even close) And then make it a rank mode like H2 I’m not asking for destiny to remove modes or throw away current pvp I’m asking for them to add another pvp mode, that’s like halo. A mode that’s very balanced and fair.

128 RepliesSimple, they are afraid that what happened seasons ago will happen again, and show Bungie which is more popular. While I dis-remember which season it was, only one playlist had CBMM while the others had SBMM. The CBMM playlist was a graveyard, except for stacked teams. The CBMM crew complained that it was because the icon for the CBMM playlist was smaller, so people did not choose it, but it was because people prefered SBMM and not getting stomped. The reason the population is so low, is BECAUSE of CBMM. Lower level players get tired of being fodder for the top, and simply quit playing. I call it self imposed SBMM as while the top have their fun games, they chase away the lows, and end up playing themselves. I would expect that if Bunge implemented an SBMM quickplay, people would return.

Edited by michael: 5/11/2021 1:35:08 AMI have been an advocate for this for a while. Different playlists should have different matchmaking algorithms and there should be 1 CBMM 6v6 playlist and 1 SBMM 6v6 playlist at any given time. Rumble should either be full SBMM or should stay CBMM and have a comp rumble playlist added, and survival should stay the way it is. Really pretty simple. The thing is, with forced CBMM right now in almost every playlist, the casual player suffers which badly hurts the population and the game in general in the long run whether you like it or not. I am a top 1% player but I would genuinely rather play SBMM gamemodes than just farm people who are so far below me in skill level that neither of us gain anything at all from playing against eachother. For me it is unengaging and too easy, for them it is discouraging and drives them away. Completely unproductive on all fronts. Something has to change

Scared to press some buttons on their controller/kbm? Erm ok.

Edited by COMBATICUS: 5/11/2021 1:48:43 AMThey arent going to do this. I just cant see them doing it, unless they make quests or more bounties for us to hop from 1 activity to another just to finish a step. This will drastically separate the players and the Q times will increase for 1 or maybe both. Now I'm not saying I dont agree, but destiny while still has an active playerbase it's just not THAT big to make separate playlists. I mean look at how our quests and bounties set up these days. Go to gambit do x, go to crucible do Y, go to strikes do xzy. They purposely have us jumping from 1 mode to another just to populate their activities. But who knows maybe itll happen but I honestly doubt it

26 RepliesSplitting the playlist with already low population just isn’t a good idea
-
This would be nice.
nibbles crayon
3 RepliesBoth playlists would essentially be sbmm. Weaker players would play sbmm playlist while better players will play cbmm playlist. Pvp just needs 100% cbmm with no lobby balancing and instead have team based mm. Tbmm forces an equal fireteam size and equal # of solo players on each team (overwatch does this). 5 stack/1 solo vs 5 stack/1 solo, 6 stack vs 6 stack, etc.
-
2 RepliesDividing the playerbase is a bad idea.. matchmaking already takes top long.. once cross play comes around then maybe..but cbmm is really the only way they should go. Sbmm doesnt work.. sbmm keeps you playing people statistically the same as you... this you'll never improve! Or you get stomped by players like me that dont care about stats and let your kd drop and elo drop .
-
7 RepliesEdited by Wraith: 5/11/2021 12:49:39 AMSplitting into two different matchmaking systems would just cut the player base in half. That’s just bad for both matchmaking systems and the game over all. Also sbmm just straight matches people from across the world and causes an insane amount of lag in a 6v6 environment.
-
2 RepliesIt may work if they have a completely separate reward system giving people incentive to play both. Also, people generally lear better in 3v3 modes. Why not have the sbmm game mode be 3v3?

Crayons 🤤

Cause that splits the player base of the current 4 players that still play crucible lol. I prefer getting outplayed by someone better than me than someone from Asia teleporting behind me and killing me after theyve been dead for 5 seconds. We had SBMM in D1 and it was disliked, we currently have it in Comp and people still whine about the same stuff. Its not even the matchmaking its just the player. -Some average 1.3 player

Something has to happen cbmm is not working. Why argue for a mode that is dying in front of our eyes. Pit like players with each other and see how it goes. I bet the PVP population would grow.
