This will literally kill off a majority of remaining console crucible players if it’s mandatory because no one would willingly choose to permanently submit themselves to PC cheaters.

Bungie: Wanna bet?

People, you need to approach this with the Bungo mentality / stupidity. The players don't ask for sunsetting, so Bungo sunsets half the game. The players want more PvP maps, so Bungo remove 11. The players want console recoil to be reduced, so Bungo increases it on PC. Remember the EV wars where players wanted less locked behind a paywall and / or better bright dust gains? Bungo added even more to the greedy dress shop, some of it season / expansion themed, AND lowered potential bright dust gains. And yet here we are, asking Bungo for optional cross play. This is Bungo, they will read that as the players wanting mandatory enforced cross play in every PvP mode.

1 ReplyThis is one of those things that should be so obvious, so you know they are going to unleash the PC cancer onto the rest of us, further driving down the population which is already critically low (...or do you guys still wonder why you match the same players every time whether its cbmm or sbmm?)
-
It HAS TO BE! Or the game will be done! I hope they have thought about it and have opt in/out

1 ReplyYou’re looking at this the wrong way man. They’re just trying to share the love. Spreading the hackers around. That way everybody gets a taste of the shit show.
-
10 RepliesThese are facts. -blam!- PC and all its cheaters. Game shouldve never gone free to play.
-
2 RepliesWell history with this company says that if the players want something Bungie will go out of their way to not give it to them.
-
Forced cross play could work as long as it divides up players based on input method. I believe some other current cross platform games do mm based on that. At the very least cross play between consoles should stay on. But pc can be opt in if they can't/won't make input method determine who's matched with who.

10 RepliesEdited by Cinderchar: 1/29/2021 9:39:23 PMAt this point it would just be easier to drop PC support for the game altogether.

Crossplay is a prime example of how Bungie thinks and acts. By reading out the DATA, they love to refer to, they found out that the player numbers are shrinking. New maps or balance improvements are not an option, so cross play is mentioned in the internal meeting as a possible solution. Since it looks like the cheapest solution, it's a quick vote. Their DATA also showed them that many console Guardians complain about weapon recoil. Aim assist is a thing, but not as much of a thing as recoil is. Bungie's solution? None for console players besides they can point their fingers at PC players and laugh because they got recoil now, too. All this as a few months lasting "solution" to a shrinking player base. Go check https://destinytrialsreport.com/ Last week, a bit over 100k have played Trials. 40k on Playstation, 35k on Xbox, 33k on PC. 722 on Stadia LMAO. If you check the last weeks, there is only one way. Down. What good are 60k more players, assuming that the numbers will shrink even more. This solution does neither help Console nor any other players. Just another day of taking the wrong route at Bungie's.

5 RepliesPc gameplay takes no aim - just point in the general direction and get a one tap. Bullshit. That isn't the way it is on console bungle and if you think it is fair to put those players against consoles you need a serious reality check. How dumb are you??
-
12 RepliesSince the majority of us seem to agree that cross play must be optional it is now guaranteed that bungie will make sure it is NOT optional. Just like sunsetting.
-
4 RepliesEdited by SILLABYSS: 1/30/2021 1:30:19 PMHahahahaha- why on earth would Bungie listen to you when the community has literally been foaming at the mouth over sunsetting for a year and has done nothing - this company does what it wants - player base can screw off if they don’t like it... I already don’t play gambit or PVP - now there’s further incentive to NEVER PLAY CRUCIBLE AGAIN.... At what point do we just stop playing this garbage?
-
If they don’t have optional cross play I will quit. Ps I hardly play this game anymore anyway
-
1 ReplyEveryone up vote this so it gets to the top. Bungie NEEDS to see this as I don’t think they have thought about it. Luckily OP has 200 IQ and realised this but he needs to let the professional game developers know before it’s to late. Please upvote!!
smfh
Agreed

PC and Console players fight enough as it is, the last thing we need is allowing these sandbox balancing changes and a mandatory cross play system pitting us against once another. We should unify and let our voices be heard by Bungie and hold them accountable instead.
-
Edited by ChaseyCakes: 1/31/2021 4:09:27 PMIt needs to have 4 options Default crossplay between consoles in pve and pvp Crossplay with pc and consoles pvp and pve Croasplay with pc and consoles pve only Off no crossplay at all
-
3 RepliesI think on Xbox there’s an option to choose to play with players outside of Xbox live, in the privacy settings. You can set it to allow or block. Whether or not this will actually work when it comes down to it is another question!
-
1 ReplyShhhh let Bungie continue digging its own grave Let nature take its course....
-
They had better make it optional or I am 100% done with this game. I left PC gaming over a decade ago beause of cheaters and there is NWIH I am playing against macro users and the more egregious types of cheaters on PC.

41 RepliesEdited by Phyromancer: 1/30/2021 4:30:59 PMI don't have a lot of opinions about this. But when I'm in doubt, I follow my 6th sense, your gut feeling. I was a PC player a long time ago. I'm a Family Man now, so I just stick to consoles now for less maintenance. Got no time when you're juggling 3 things in life. Anyways, I used to play in PC a long time ago. I just wanna shout it out that the PC gaming crowd is the underground hoodlums of the industry. When they announced PC is coming to Destiny, I instantly knew what was gonna happen before it even happened. I told this to my clan. This sh°t is gonna go down bad. I mean, it will shake up this game in a bad way. When they announced the game to have F2P elements, I said to them, "Here we go!" This is gonna go bad in PC. I said, once you open that door, get ready to be invaded. And here we are. Now we are in this crossroad again. Crossplay! I don't know much about this technology yet, it's kinda new. So I can't contribute much to this. I've been reading your responses here. Some have experienced it. Some have bad expectations that something bad or drastic might happen to the game. All I can say is, with the PC crowd in the mix. Yeah, something bad will always happen with these underground hoodlums. I have nothing to say in this except yes, you are probably correct. This is bad juju. With the PC crowd, something bad always happens. Always! One day you will all come back to this post and say, "We were right, we told you this would happen!" With the PC crowd, it probably will.

1 ReplyThe only reason that this is happening is due to the small player bases on PC and XBOX which both support Microsoft’s Game Pass.
