So with Stasis now a thing, can we make the Coldheart deal Stasis damage now???
Just look at that sexy Sub Zero ornament that just fits this idea SO well. What does the community think? Sounds pretty cool right? Please Bungie, make these dreams a reality!

Coldheart fires supercooled Arc energy, not stasis energy. We need a stasis trace rifle that freezes stuff.

Why are you guys so dense? Coldheart doesn't use Stasis energy. It uses cold-fusion plasma energy. In other words, nuclear energy. Its name came from the fact that the liquid ammo in it doubles as a coolant to keep the nuclear generator it has from overheating.

4 RepliesOther than the ability to freeze targets (which would be OP as hell in a special weapon) there is no role for Stasis elemental weapons. There are no stasis-based shields....and the only non void/solar/arc shields that are in the game are there to force us to interact with a specific mechanic in the game. Like destroying the Technocrat's shield generators.

Lore wise its core needs to be cold or something or else it will explode I think. I imagine arc energy actually feels hot. so it won't make sense to do stasis

I mean...it would be neat if it had freezing capabilities...but even that isn't much to really care for. If you are just strictly asking for it to be stasis then it loses it's arc shield breaking capabilities which would be a nerf as nothing uses stasis to break shields. Not really sure what else you'd really want it for other than the symbol on the gun or a slight change in beam color.
