Arbalest needs an adjustment
Seriously, bungie, tone it down.
The flinch and aim assist are completely broken on this weapon.

3 RepliesI am legit seriously asking cause I have no clue. What is making Arbaliest so meta/popular right now? I don't get it, if it can't one shot body shot, is it easy to get headshots with? Or are people body shotting then swapping weapons for a quick finish? Or what? I have never seen or used Arbalest in Cruicible. Please fill me in what is the benefit to it?

But the reason weapons like Arbalest, Bastion, Jotunn aren’t universally considered op is because they statistically aren’t used that much and/or aren’t that fun. Most people don’t really enjoy charging things that much, which is the same reason most people don’t enjoy bows. These weapons, however, currently get the same treatment as Mountaintop used to. Does anyone remember the days when only a few people would complain about Mountaintop while the overwhelming majority would just say “get good” or “now we’re complaining about Mountaintop? lol”? Well, I guarantee most posts discussing the aforementioned weapons include these types of “arguments”. Honestly, I really love watching most streamers, but I think a lot of them are part of reason why some weapons get killed, or in this case, are required to bring broken things to light so others can “agree wholeheartedly”. Mountaintop has always been a problem, but with most of the “broken” weapons of its era being killed (neutered), it is still as ugly as ever. This community relies so much on validation from streamers, including what weapons are good and what techniques are cheesy or okay. I went on a bit (lol) of a tangent, but since we’re discussing Arbalest, let me give my input on the weapon. It’s charge time doesn’t balance it out despite what some people may say, unless you’re trying to use it in close quarters (why?), but the charging sound does help a little bit in terms of balance. But not peaking it because you hear the sound should not be essentially the best strategy. Even against good snipers, you could probably flinch them or outstrafe them, but Arbalest kinda just does it’s thing. Arbalest has a zoom of 25, let that sink in, because 35 zoom on snipers is already considered overpowered and sniper zoom is only going to get more zoomed in in future sandboxes because of it. Arbalest takes flinch like a scout rifle, and while scout rifles are honestly the worst type of weapon right now (PvP), you’re not losing a gunfight using a scout because of flinch, at all. Arbalest can one-shot supers; while this may not be that much of a problem by itself, with the other things added on, gotta say that it’s a bit busted. The only other thing I can really say about it is that, I would drop its aim assistance to the low fifties, not a major change, but what functions like a 72 rpm sniper should not have the aim assistance of a 90 rpm sniper on top of all the other perks.

1 ReplyUnder sustained flinch yes it needs nerfed and its aim assist could use nerfed to say 70 or 80 otherwise there's little reason to use it over a sniper

I use it and will only struggle at extended ranges against competent (and quick) snipers. Its aim assist is crazy, ADS speed is good and is a massive killjoy to anyone with a roaming super but despite all of that, it’s not OP. Try ducking and weaving whilst you charge and make sure you have a target adjuster mod on your helmet. Practice charging in cover and remembering where your target is. Edit On second read, it looks like maybe you’re saying the opposite of what I though you were saying. Either way, it’s balanced and shouldn’t be adjusted!

18 RepliesWhy dont you just counter with a sniper? You guys love to complain about arbalest but its basically just another worse version of a sniper with low zoom and high aim assist. Weapons like beloved and revoker have just as much aim assist and also can land headshots while taking damage so why is arbalest any different? I think you need to simply adapt, learn to use a sniper and you will never lose to arbalest again. Its really easy, you guys complained about hand held nova grenades too and their counter was to simply keep your distance. Its just the same as when you fight a titan running shoulder charge, you learn to outplay them by using a shotgun or baiting them i to corners. Stop asking for nerfs already and learn to outplay

2 RepliesIf arbalest gets nerfed, they’ll nerf ALL linear fusions in turn. Don’t believe me? Look what Bungie did with fusion nerf. Range now almost doesn’t matter on fusions. Adaptive and rapid fire fusions, two that never got used anyway, are unusable. Don’t act like it won’t be full class nerf for all linear fusions. Linear fusions are so bad in pvp and pve 90% of the time anyway then nearly any special weapons in the game are always so much better then them. A full blanket nerf at this point, they might as well remove linear fusions from the game,

I love how everyone's either "get good and stop asking for nerfs" like I said I want it nerfed to the ground. I specifically doesn't say the word nerf because I also have an issue nerfing everything. That being said, flinch 100% needs an adjustment. Especially in the case of arbalest and other snipers. Which I didn't mention because that's a post for another time you absolute gormless mingers. Stop assuming you know everything and that you have all the answers. Because regardless of what you think or believe, the flinch on those weapons does need an adjustment. You're calling me a whiner, but most of you are quite literally -blam!- about way more than I've "complained" about in this thread.
