Key word there is most. The nightmare crusher (i think it is, the solar one) is really useful because those "solar" shielded thrall are not true solar. they are shielded by the nightmare boss. meaning you can drop that shield with any burn giving you more control over your loadout. so although they are not needed they can play a nice roll in the higher tier Hunts. it's all playstyle and preference.
