Why do we need to complete the IB quest to turn in tokens?
I don't see the point in having to complete the quest unless you're after the armor drops (which I'm not).
Why should I have to complete the quest if all I'm playing Iron Banner for is a god roll Hero's Burden?
It should have stayed the way it was in Y2: only weapons are in the loot pool until you complete the quest step to add each armor piece into the pool.
[b]EDIT:[/b] I said this in a reply to a comment below, but I figured I'd add it to the post to point a little light towards this suggestion:
Bring back the Iron Will armor set, turn the Iron Truage set into ornaments, and make the ornaments the rewards for an optional quest.
Let players, with or without completing the quest, farm for better rolls on their Iron Will set and IB weapons from end-of-match rewards and rank-up packages.

4 RepliesPlayed for the first time in over a year. Went to turn in tokens and found I had to complete a quest, deleted them all. Used to play IB constantly and now it is just a chore I am not willing to do. I get much more on a patrol than I do in IB for 1/100th the time investment. TLDR: 2 blues and coin. No thank you...

1 ReplyBecause Bungie no longer wants the game to be fun. They want it to be a grind fest. The quest is a perfect example. Use specific weapons 1 at a time (must finish all shotgun kills before any hand cannon kills will track and must then complete hand cannon kills before we will start counting rocket launcher kills when you may not get any ammo whatsoever for several games since the other team is camping it and ignoring the Control Zones because winning/losing means nothing for the quest). Why else would it require 15 games on each character to get something other than a weapon out of bounty you already completed. They are trying to get you to play 45 games or more as a pure grind, taking the fun out of something that would otherwise be enjoyable (like old Iron Banner was).

Yeah, not everyone has all day to grind. Some of us just want to get home, and get it done. It's like it's all geared towards hardcore grinders that spend all day gaming. Also, at least let people turn in the tokens they earned BEFORE that quest rule came up.

I think you answered your own question there bud. They don't want you able to farm weapons only with tokens. Once again slowing down players, reducing power and increasing playtime with absurd quests

They want to pad the player count so they can turn around and say it was a huge success with so many people playing for so long. All marketing BS.

I don't see the point either. Its all old content from the last season and plus it drops after each match. I don't even use those weapons in the game anyways. The quest is not worth it in my opinion. I did get frustrated with all the rockets flying my way. I did not know what was up. I thought it was all coming from one guy and he was cheating some how with having infinite heavy ammo. I almost reported him then found out it was part of the quest. I finished my Bright Dust weekly bounties from Shax just now and think I am going to stay out of Iron Banner the rest of this week lol.

I don’t even play pvp but came back after a year off and decided to turn in the coins that I had left over. Turned some in and tried to claim my engram and NOPE. How -blam!-ing stupid. I guess I’ll never get to claim it and those coins will never get used

By making us do a pointless quest first, it waste time we could of used to grind weapons and it adds the armour to dilute the loot pool before we can start trying for weapons.

I used to love IB. I'm sitting on an absurd amount of tokens cause I CAN'T TURN THEM IN till I complete a stupid quest. and then I can't get any good items till I unlock them. You're sucking the fun out of your already not fun game guys. If your gonna have tokens, let me use them regardless of quest progress to get a full armor set. If your gonna make us do stupid assinine quests get rid of tokens and reduce the number of kills. I have a whole clan and a lot of them won't even play IB cause it is not fun. light lvl difference means a lot of people get dumped on and most matches are mercied before you get your kills. The quests are not fun. I hate grinding for armor I already have. Oh and are we gonna have to regrind all the armor we earned in the past? why are they not already ornaments? Why did I pay for this game day one? you -blam!-ed this up so bad you had to give away the base content and all the dlc and now you keep pissing on my shoes and telling me its a shoeshine. Fix the game.

1 ReplyI like it... seems like people are playing more aggressive which promotes better gunplay. Also helps you become better in pvp as well. Learn map awareness and when to approach. Lord you cry babies will whine at everything.
