Show some respect. You don't know who you are vs in PvP
PersonallyI lack the same vision that a lot of you have. I only see out of one eye. Have done my whole life. It means I have a slower reaction than most, and I rely solely through single vision for everything. It makes playing PvP hard. Yes you don't know that, but its stupidly insulting to get messages abusing me to 'get good' when I know I never will be. Hey I'm ok with not being the best. When I play crucible I enjoy myself. Surprisingly the lack of complete vision and a slower reaction still puts me at pretty good odds to out snipe other people.
I understand many of you are good at what you do. Congrats. Good work I applaud you for having the skills to do so.
What I don't respect is the way some of you treat other people.
You don't know the person you are playing, so play with some respect and play right.
Sending salty messages, being a total jerk and what not doesn't prove your better. It only shows you have no class.
For all you know you could be vs an older person with poor reaction times, a person with a disability, a person who has social anxiety. If they aren't good at crucible then they are doing it just to have fun, earn some rewards, have a laugh and just muck around.
Yes I have managed to earn my way to getting the Recluse and the Revoker and Mountaintop. It proves some of us can do it. But again it's the lack of respect from the PvP community that angers me.
I'm not sensitive about it, win or lose I don't care. I just think attitudes need to change in a game where you are meant to have fun. Not be insulting, and behaving like a classless foul just to show off.
You might be good at PvP but nobody outside would know you from a bar of soap.

Just block them and move on man. It's not worth the headache. Some people are only happy if they are making others miserable. Chances are it's a self-esteem issue in real life.

I know what are you saying. I have CP. I love trying to improve my hand eye coordation...lt is slow progress. But I only get frustrated when some punk trash talks my best efforts. Not everyone is a pvp god, so show maturity for crying out loud... Is what I reply to the 'git gud' bozos.

Not sensitive about it and doesn't care, but writes an essay. I actually agree with most of the points here as I am attempting to curb my own salt lick, but the passion of frustration does have an outlet. Self discipline is a wonderful thing, but as mentioned, players run the gambit of capability and it is unlikely all are capable.

You're talking to a community that can't even be held accountable for their own pathetic performance in Crucible, and constantly uses an arbitrary number as a bludgeon to hammer home their garbage nerf arguments. On behalf of gamers everywhere, I apologize that you stumbled into such a toxic wasteland.

Sadly, there are far more trolls online than there are bridges offline. They love to waste time being hateful and trying to ruin someone's day. Not to mention, they are either unintelligent or unimaginative. So every time you see someone making an ass of themselves, just imagine them with their mouth wide open and going "Duuuurrrrrr". The trolls are probably doing that anyway.

Totally agree. I see you're on psn, but if you ever do cross play on xbox, feel free to add me as a friend, and I'd love to play alongside you! It really is astounding the number of messages I receive that tell me to go kill myself because I'm using a particular gun. Or the number of messages I get telling me I'm trash after I win a game and "1v1 me bro." Or the number of times I get told to quit and give up if I have a bad game. Agree with all of the comments about lacking empathy and not having anything going for them. Really, when you have to reach out via message and insult somebody it's because you also can't take responsibility for your own actions. These people think they lose because of something unfair or cheap that you do instead of possessing a growth mindset and focusing on how they can be better. Funny enough, these are also the people that complain about how matchmaking sucks and that there aren't enough people to play. Maybe because all of the normal people are driven away from pvp due to toxic behavior...

Thanks for even sharing this, as you know the trolls will still come out and make this a trivial matter. Sometimes players need to breathe and remind themselves it's a video game -- is it worth getting worked up to send a toxic message to another player and ruin their day? If the answer is yes, perhaps some self-reflection of being spiteful would work wonders for them. Even worse are the stacked fireteam of players who pub-stomp and will still send out a message with something like "L" (as though losing a match wasn't blatant enough without a keen sense of observation or comprehension of victories and losses). I can't speak for anyone else, but Destiny has been an avenue of relief from the craziness of the real world for me. And introducing toxicity into the video game just restricts the enjoyable experience of playing it, specifically if a player already has to deal with real life disabilities.

Some people do stuff behind the cloak of anonymity that they would not do face-to-face. I usually brush it off and move on, because I don't need to resort to that level. Online multiplayer games tend to bring out the worst in people.

Right on, man! IMO most Destiny players are good people just looking to have a good time playing a cartoon game, but there’s also a good number of people that were poorly raised and and take this game way too seriously. Which is crazy as heck because Destiny 2 does not draw elite gamers aside from the occasional streamer.

1 ReplyI can say very simply. People in this game take the pvp aspect too seriously. Just funny, seeing those all tryhards. I'm noob at, pvp, I play only pve (you can look at my stats). But what do I do when I'm forced to play pvp? I'm just trolling with a fusion rifle, or shootgun, squatting around and trying to camp all those tryhards. It doesn't matter to me what my KD is, it's all about pissing them all lol
