PersonallyI lack the same vision that a lot of you have. I only see out of one eye. Have done my whole life. It means I have a slower reaction than most, and I rely solely through single vision for everything. It makes playing PvP hard. Yes you don't know that, but its stupidly insulting to get messages abusing me to 'get good' when I know I never will be. Hey I'm ok with not being the best. When I play crucible I enjoy myself. Surprisingly the lack of complete vision and a slower reaction still puts me at pretty good odds to out snipe other people.
I understand many of you are good at what you do. Congrats. Good work I applaud you for having the skills to do so.
What I don't respect is the way some of you treat other people.
You don't know the person you are playing, so play with some respect and play right.
Sending salty messages, being a total jerk and what not doesn't prove your better. It only shows you have no class.
For all you know you could be vs an older person with poor reaction times, a person with a disability, a person who has social anxiety. If they aren't good at crucible then they are doing it just to have fun, earn some rewards, have a laugh and just muck around.
Yes I have managed to earn my way to getting the Recluse and the Revoker and Mountaintop. It proves some of us can do it. But again it's the lack of respect from the PvP community that angers me.
I'm not sensitive about it, win or lose I don't care. I just think attitudes need to change in a game where you are meant to have fun. Not be insulting, and behaving like a classless foul just to show off.
You might be good at PvP but nobody outside would know you from a bar of soap.

I would recommend disabling whispers from people not on your friends list

I've asked bungie for years to put user generated namer tags in the game. Like fortnite did so it masks your identity so you don't get harassed. This is the only game I ever get messages on. It's pretty rare but it happens. I have a buddy that is one of those people that sends messages to others that do bad. Cause we shit on him a lot cause he does terrible most of the time. So if someone does worse then him, he feels he needs to let them know lol. It's all in fun but I always tell him not to do it, cause I know there is a lot of people playing this game that have disabilities and games are meant to escape the everyday bullshit that is life, not be bothered with salty messages. But, bungie accepts this kind of behavior. Which is odd, coming from a liberal hipster company. People been T-bagging and sending salty messages to each other since the launch of this game. I learned of tbagging from this game. All the years I played, quake, doom, unreal tournament, area 51 ect. I never got tbagged until my 5th crucible match in destiny. I never got messages from people, until I played this game. I never been harassed in a video game at all, until this game. Hope bungie sees this and actually puts on a "streamer" mode like fortnite so players don't get harassed for playing the game they enjoy. But, if bungie don't, blame them for allowing it to continue cause it really comes down to them.

I have autism and social anxiety. This is why I avoid doing raids as I don’t want to risk getting douchey messages 😂 fortunately I’ve only had a couple abusive messages from gambit and crucible though
-
skinnyravs you do care otherwise you wouldn’t have said anything. I agree with you that there are a lot of gamers out there with an elitist attitude and are disrespectful. They’ll blame others for their losses etc. Just something you have to deal with in these types of games unfortunately. Been like that since 2006 when the 360/ PS3 first came out.

The only things you can do to stop them from bothering you is to set your messages to friends only or just ignore them. This post won't do anything to the toxicity online.

Awesome post, thank you.

4 RepliesPreach. Say it louder for the salty kids that send me hate mail. 😂 I actually made a hate mail bingo card for my own personal entertainment.

8 RepliesThe fate of all online multiplayer games where players directly interact with each other is to have a toxic community. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the truth. A majority of gamers are unfortunately just horrible people.

great post

2 Replieslook, we get it. You wear one eyed mask.

2 Replieseh, Really? I get that slower reaction time can be slower with one eye. But not by much. The most delay recorded from someone lacking two eyes is about 100ms, That isn't much. Depth perception is the biggest symptom of 1 eye, but you don't need depth perception when looking at a 2d screen. I agree with your overall statement, but I'm convinced you're playing up your condition

Lmao I don’t care if it’s competitive . I used to play it a lot if I get beaten which I do I give less than a fck. I don’t care if I lose the game for anyone or how I hurt their feelings in the slightest 🤣I keep doing because I like it . All I care about is myself . Really

I'm an older player, much older than the average,my reactions are getting slower but I've only received one msg when playing pvp,it was a positive one,"you deserved the win".after a player on my team left in survival,Im aware players can be toxic & childish or even use jotuun in comp, they have no shame.

11 RepliesOn the one hand, I hate being dragged down by poorly skilled teammates. But on the other, only competitive matters, casual shouldnt matter

This is an internet and bad current parenting problem. Not a Destiny problem.

Don't let them get to you i know it's easy but at the end of the day, anyone who -blam!- at you because you do poorly shows what type of person they're. Just keep your head held high and ignore the idiots.

1 ReplyThose messages come from children or those who will always be children. Don't let it bother you in the least.

you are the type of guy the sweats want thrown into CBMM, so they can make videos clowning you.

Yeah I too have one eye and probably a bad decision for my main gaming TV to be 55” because tracking targets is a little harder. My tip to you as a one eyed person who games is that you’ll have to think ahead and focus on your movement a lot. There’s a good chance you won’t outgun many but if you outplay them in movement you’ll get some advantage back. Players off equal skill will probably wreck you tho lol

Just block them and move on man. It's not worth the headache. Some people are only happy if they are making others miserable. Chances are it's a self-esteem issue in real life.
