D2 raids are/have become too mechanics heavy and any one thing could cause a wipe including glitches. It would be nice if we had an assortment of raids where some were less mechanics heavy. Not fun to bring new ppl in because everyone has to have the mechanics down 100%. For example, more raids like kings fall and wotm, less raids like gos and sos. Focused team mechanics and less sub teams doing different mechanics.
Also the armor drop rate in GoS is terrible!

Edited by WP ScorpionWind: 10/28/2019 8:50:19 AMIt's not that they're mechanic heavy that's the problem, it's that they punish everyone for one person messing up on anything. In D1 for example if one person missed something or didn't get to a certain location they would be the one who would be killed/made to pay for it. In D2 most of the raids basically have a team wipe mechanic attached to everything so the moment one person messes up the whole team feels the wrath. This is what is cause the problems not the mechanics themselves. Raids have always been mechanic heavy and I'm glad they are that way, because they require teamwork and communication (Which reality is the world could use a hell of a lot more of.).

6 RepliesIf you don’t like mechanics then go do strikes.

Agree I still prefer d1 raids

I think Bungie intentionally does this to piss off the gamers, that's my take. And don't even get me started on trolls! We all know who they are! What they do!

D2 raids are trash.

1 ReplyIn destiny 1 I made sure to raid every week and even do the hard mode. I never did wrath of the machine because at that point I was burnt out on destiny and all my friends were playing other games but Destiny 2 is a different story. I currently have one completion in this game and that’s the very first raid.... sad part is the only reason I completed it was because I got lucky and won a raffle in a stream..... all the teammates were super competent and did everything nearly flawlessly. Now I’m not a bad player when it comes to raids, I tend to learn quickly and hold my own in whatever I’m doing. That being said my friends and I attempted this raid several times failing constantly and never able to down calus and the reason why was because we had two players who were not all that great at keeping up with the mechanics. I’m patient but others in my group were not and ended up slinging hate at them causing them to downright quit the game. The worst part is that in Destiny 1 we never had to experience this. D1 raids allowed hero moments, thus allowing me and one other person in my group to make up for any mistakes the other two made and clutching the win. It didn’t happen all the time but it happened and so nobody ran out of patience. When we were stuck on calus and it was only the normal version all because our weak links just couldn’t quite hack it really ruined the game for me. When those two quit I also quit and did not pick up the game again till forsaken came out. When the last wish raid came out I was excited and I was watching the worlds first hoping this would bring back my raiding team.... as I watched I quickly realized the direction Bungie had gone with the raid and concluded my team was not going to be able to do this.... I wasn’t even sure I could keep up with all the mechanics and that’s saying something. I’ll never touch another raid again because the raids in destiny 2 quite literally ruined the game for me and my friends.

58 RepliesThats why no one raids in d2, its just a game, and there's no need for ridiculous mechanics just be able to play and complete it. There is absolutely no option for solo players, unlike crota and last wish chests... Shattered throne was perfect in all aspects for high level content, has mechanics, and is challenging, but doable for anyone. Raids are now just for streamers and kids who have all day to play with their little friends.

remove raid !!

I think you might be a bit too heavy

I have to agree that Bungie should mix things up. Mechanics heavy raids aren't terrible and do take time to learn. I personally don't mind it so much but I do know a lot of people who have been turned off by this and no longer care to raid. Normally I'm all for helping people learn but it's getting to the point where I don't want to help others and just want to run it with people I know, who know the process. Anyway it would be nice to have a mixture instead of a reliance solely on mechanics based. A raid that is a pure and blissful siege encounter after encounter. Even old D1 raids had some mechanics. Oracles in the Vault of Glass. Building bridges in Crota's End, etc. The fact is that every Raid doesn't need to be mechanics heavy and Bungie really should have both combat and mechanics based Raids. Maybe Combat with light mechanics and then the more mechanic heavy stuff we've seen recently. D2 Raids have been pretty solid but there's different ways to create a Raid. As for Armor drops in Garden of Salvation. I finally got gloves this weekend. The first hidden chest has given me Components and a Mod every single time I've opened it. Same for a friend of mine. Consequently another friend has now received 3 or 4 pair of boots from the raid but no weapons.

The mechanics are the way they are because people find a way to maximise dps bosses so their there to slow you down bosses in other games can take hours/dozens of players like older Diablo games and such
-
Cleared GoS over the weekend without failing a single encounter. Beat the boss on our first try.

1 ReplyOkeh. I just stabbed a unicorn in the belly button.

2 RepliesKings fall would like to speak to you
-
Its a learn in progress. A couple failed attempt and then you will be wiser and better😁
-
It's really just empowerment, voltaric, motes, and tether. They introduce them gradually throughout the raid so you should be prepared by the final boss.
-
2 RepliesThe mechanics in and of themselves are very simple. The biggest issue I see is the margin for error is stretched to the bare minimum.
-
1 ReplyBro idk what you mean. I learned GOS as I went, and VERY few of our team wipes were because of mechanical faults, abd even fewer were my fault. If youre specifically talking GOS, its mechanically simple. You play gambit and you connect the dots. I do think Crown and Scourge mightve been a little heavy mechanically, but even those werent too bad
-
1 ReplyIt’s a raid, not a strike, mechanics are what separates them by creating a skill gap, not all people are skilled enough
-
5 RepliesEdited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 10/28/2019 12:57:26 AMThe mechanics aren't hard though lol. First encounter kill stuff pick up puke unlock door. Second encounter kill stuff get buff kill more stuff. Third encounter play gambit or shoot a red dot. Boss fight play gambit tether boss.

3 RepliesNot everything needs to be strikes with slight mechanics like VoG and Crota.

3 Repliesso you want little effort for maximum reward?

3 RepliesOnly way to learn said mechanics are to play them. Not everyone wants to handhold a newbie through a raid as some times people don't have 4 hours+ to commit to a raid and just want to do it as fast as possible. I would suggest you start.your own post looking for like minded raiders who have not completed and are also looking to learn.
