A council of DM’s to regulate is severely flawed and possibly stupid, for the reason being that DM’s can succumb to bias and stupidity just as much as players do. All a self-appointed council does is demonstrate narcissism and corruption.
Here: http://rolldicewithfriends.com/rooms/offtopic is an exemplary site that you can use. You create a room (Offtopic for example) for your specific RP and here you can openly share your dice rolls to maintain accountability.
I also propose a tier system for characters. If you are running a story or event that’s, let’s say, a SWAT raid, if you are Godzilla or Super Saiyan 666 Cthulhu you obviously are too powerful to participate. If you are a machine gun wielding medieval knight and you are complaining that your opponent is too OP because your bullets aren’t affecting a gigantic dragon, well then no shit, get your weak ass out of that fight since you are out of your league.
These two suggestions maintain consistency and fairness while reducing bias, reducing impact of narcissism, and reducing or eliminating the need for people having to nerf themselves.

just shove everything into 1 megathread, like that dojo megathread back in 2015 (if anyone even remembers that), that way u people have 1 collective mass and can control it easier

55 RepliesWell first, you're like never here and hardly participate so why should your idea be considered better? You dont really understand the situation. You dont have the experience. You could've just said, "here's another idea" and alsonposted it in one of the many other threads. This just sounds like you're here to stir up drama. Second, you obviously didn't read the discussion because the council would be for both players and DMs. It's also more like a group of referees than judges and pretty much does exactly what you said further below. Third, I like and use dice for the both of us when I'm running things. Most folks here dont play d&d and I dont think it neccessary to force systems that are complex to outsiders upon everyone. Fourth, I think having a tier system as strict as you're suggesting would cause more unnecessary drama than a DM simply saying, "No." For an event. Fifth, why is that machine gun wielding knight out of his league? Flaming poop monsters arent that strong, I've killed many of them with low level d&d groups. My proudest kill was with a cantrip, Vicious Mockery, which is basically just magic shit talk.

I was thinking that some folks might want to limit their RP to less people to make it easier to manage. Then they could set parameters for the campaign so that people could not god mod their characters. That was what we did in our old campaigns, we just picked out a few characters and let the DM select based on compatibility with the campaign, which also meant all of our character bs was on paper, so we could not add super powers like elemental wind farts of doom.

7 RepliesHow about the role players -blam!- the right off and come back when they want to do something that’s not roleplaying. This reminds me of the games that kids play, where it’s set in a random ass situation (fightning aliens only mars, surviving mutants in a secret laboratory etc.) where each side just gets more and more overpowered with the most weird stuff to help them battle.

9 RepliesNope. Nil has it right.

2 RepliesI’m not sure I understand. All you showed was a set of dice, which I don’t see how is helpful. You suggested that players just don’t join the rp which is what has been happening for a while now and is the issue I thought we were addressing.

3 RepliesAnd, suppose if more powerful characters want to join, they are allowed to nerf themselves, correct? I’m all for it!
