There is NO BIGGER WASTE OF TIME than Destiny!!!
I play this game way too much. I play raids, I play PvP, I play just about everything. I log on every night for 3-6 hours.
The only consistent feeling is that, at the end of most days, I feel like I wasted my time playing.
I never get the rolls I’m looking for, the raids never drop the loot I want, PvP is sooooooo frustrating and inconsistent that I feel like destroying my controller every time I play.
SO WHY KEEP PLAYING?????
This game reminds me of the South Park episode with the heroine dragon video game. If you haven’t seen the episode, it’s a video game where you take heroine and try to catch a little flying dragon that is ALWAYS just out of your reach, YET YOU KEEP ON CHASING HIM.
Thats Destiny. A game that is fun for about a month or 2, that then becomes soul crushing. If you’re anything like me, you keep playing because you are chasing a feeling. You are chasing that next really great crucible game, or that next exotic, or even that next god roll weapon.
The true problem is that that next great crucible game is preceded by 7 games of cheaters, top 1% players, Not Forgotten, Super Spam, Heavy Spam and very little gun fighting.
That next exotic hasn’t shown up in over a month, even though you play every night for about 5 hours.
And that God Roll is always missing at least 1 or 2 perks.
THIS GAME IS UNHEALTHY. It’s basically like gambling. Like most degenerate gamblers, we are chasing that next huge win, while ignoring the fact that we are losing most of our spare time in the process.
Look at what it’s turned into. A ton of people don’t even play for themselves. THEY PAY OTHERS TO PLAY FOR THEM. If that isn’t a huge red flag, I don’t know what is.
SO HOW DO WE QUIT???
I wish I had the answer. All I know is that because of this addiction, I do something I hate, more than most things, everyday. That thing is playing Destiny.
A little feedback side note, PvP is where the bulk of my hate lives. Because I’m competitive I keep playing it, even though it makes me insanely mad almost every evening. PvE is frustrating when you don’t get the right loot, but not really frustrating to play.

I play an hour a day, do some missions, (no pvp) and just chillax. Once I’m done playing all the campaigns, I’m going to do some bounties to get cores and hit max power, even if it takes me a while. Then I’m going to go for all the Triumphs I can get. Just take it easy, remember that games are meant [i]to be fun.[/i]

[/quote] By the looks of your post you're already on the way to quit for the better. What have worked for me on that subject. 1. Do not preorder! Watch the game reveals, all the teasers (if you feel like to) but don't put your money up front without being told what you're paying for. This worked for me particularly good on recent days, i was considering if to buy or not shadowkeep on the early days of september and the closer october 1st is the more Bungo [i]keep on ducking the foot on the bucket[/i] like they did with the ability changes and supers nerfing, my will to buy shadowkeep vanishes. 2. Try other games. You're probably burnt out of Destiny, putting distance from Destiny could help you rest from it and to discover other titles among the genre that you could like. If Destiny gets any better nor you kinda itchy to play is OKAY, game is still there, game undergoes some changes? Game is still there, game gets any better? Great! Game is still there. I heard you are getting some of the next content for free, like patrol the planet, a strike, or so. Not a chance they do such thing if the game sales were doing great, you can actually hurt their pocket and make content more accessible and better if simply wait for reviews and make your decision if to buy or not.

So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

Take a season off, man. My buddy takes 2-3 months off to play other games every year so that he doesn't burn out. Sounds like you need that too

Lol seriously tbough, the game would be a waste of time even if you were getting the things you wanted. That's why you just play it for fun, without too much emphasis on the rewards...because at least then, it's a FUN waste of time. As far as the "addiction", thats a personal issue that only YOU (and maybe a therapist) can work out. Truly, the key is only playing for fun. When you log in for 6 hours a day, you are undoubtedly going to grow tired of it. There isn't one thing in the world that remains fun for years at 6 hours per day. It's a delicates balance...getting the things you want and the time spent on doing that. If you got all the things you wanted in a month, you would get mad that there ISN'T anything to give you that feeling you are chasing. Sometimes, you need to jist atep away for a bit to recharge. There is nothing wrong with that. Give it a week or two, do something else for a few days, andt that love for the game rebuild in time for Shadowkeep. Its a much healthier approach. Based on your wording, it sounds like you have a personal problem to solve...good luck.

I got a fix! Don't pre-order the next expansion? Wait 2-3 weeks in and see what the fuss is about then decide to play or to move to another game. Mix it up.

I'm very competitive as well and quick to rage when a match turns into a respawn sim. Lately I've accepted that Crucible is a joke and started treating it like one.
