Why can’t a real fix be put in place for crucible matchmaking to make it enjoyable for everyone? Probably 95+% matches have the same mix. At least 2-4 butt kickers which don’t belong with at least half of the rest. 3-5 that run around and die every 12 seconds because everyone else is so much better, and the remaining filled with players that probably should be together. Perhaps a ranking system that you only play with players in you rank unless you choose to play up a rank. It’s an account ranking system that uses the best guardian on the account for all guardians on the account and it ranks from 0-100 based on kills/deaths/etc. and it’s divided into brackets of 10-20 or something like that. Players ranking 90-100 only play against each other except when playing up a rank or fire teams at which point the highest ranked player’s rank is used. If that means some matches are only 4v4 instead of 6v6, then so be it. So many people only play crucible when they are forced to (quests or other achievements) because casual players are always fighting against hardcore players. Make this enjoyable for everyone, not just the people that play 40 hours a week honing their skills.

I can atest to this 99% of the time I have to carry. But this past match in Clash i droped 55 score to the enemies 53 Total score. Lol like wtf is that about?? 🤔

Edited by Fate: 8/23/2019 3:01:30 AMI don’t mind the matchmaking it keeps things interesting Though matching with people with similar stats would be a improvement

19 RepliesGet farmed #livestock. If you played on Xbox you would get farmed even more fun fact.

This will never ever happen and If it were to ever happen then the self serving, clueless, useless, worthless, godless, spineless, gutless, yellow-belied backstabbing psychopathic pub-stomping elitists cowards and their clans of clowns would start screaming -blam!- and whining to Bung-Holio about how unfair it is that they can no longer Haunt and Humiliate normal everyday hard working people. The screaming by these pathetic little parasites would be so loud and so terrifying that Bunghole would cave in and.give them the regular source of bunkum that they so desire

9 RepliesI completely agree: what's the point of matchmaking if it machtes you with people that are either way too good, or the other way around? The overall team is evenly matched, but inside the team, it's usually 1 or 2 players supporting it, with a K/D of 6 while the rest barely has 1 or 1.5. It's very surprising to me as I remember matches in D1 were very well balanced after a few matches. Even further, I remember matches in Halo Reach that felt even better (yes I'm a bit old). So, what's the problem: is the player pool too small to make a good matchmaking? Is the algorithm too complex and impossible to tweak anymore? Is PVP seen as a second rate activity? Something else?
-
Their matchmaking makes it really -blam!-ing hard to like crucible. I was finally getting a streak going, I’m not good but was lucking out with wins, and then got put onto a team down by 50 against a clan..... how the -blam!-?! C’mon Bungie

2 RepliesI would go one further and render certain weapons inoperable like recluse or mountain top. The real miasma of Destiny are the lobby win traders who have no interest in playing competitive beyond getting the weapon and then go to QP to grief.

More of this pathetic crying? DONT PLAY SOCIAL MM IF YOU ARE GONNA CRY ABOUT MATCHING BETTER PLAYERS SOMETIMES Go to the playlists that give you the crutch you so desperately need
-
and nightfall matchmaking is a myth

3 RepliesIt’s better now than it was two months ago

A real fix is not financially feasible. I don't play PVP unless I have to, but I am interested to see how the changes are taken by everyone.
-
It's a social playlist, you'll be facing people from all different skill ranges. 1 game you could have a bunch of potatoes, the next you could have SirD on your team. Dont like it? Stay out of the playlist. There is going to be another playlist with SBMM coming in ShadowKeep so you can face people of your own skill if that pleases you.
-
118 RepliesThose "2-4 buttkickers" absolutely belong in the same game as you. It's a SOCIAL playlist, no special treatment you match the rest of the playerbase and the better you are the more often you'll be on top, go to rumble, banner, comp or the rotating playlist if matching the rest of the playerbase is too much for you and you want your safe space bubble

1 ReplyThey're fixing it with Shadowkeep. All the changes were detailed in the director's commentary the other day. It's the top pinned post.
-
11 Replieslol so you want a ranked system for quickplay? Smells like SBMM to me Well if you would have read the directors cuts you would see you’re already getting the protection you want. Just stay away from Classic. We wouldn’t want to bruise your fragile little ego now would we....

I would to like to start a comp match without being a player down on my team. Doesn’t happen to often but when it does it’s usually when I’m on a streak.
-
I got to 3110 glory yesterday and now the game thinks I'm a pvp god I keep getting matched against 6stacks of not forgotten unbrokens
-
Although to an extent I agree with better skill based matchmaking as it's impossible to improve when people can't stay up. For me the main issue with the crucible on D2 is the amount of players that lag exceptionally badly. Whilst there was an issue on D1 with this it wasn't anywhere near as bad as it is on D2.
-
This is the sad truth my friend.

I’ve not been having fun in PvP recently. I haven’t really enjoyed it much at all in D2. Year 1 was awful with team shooting and this second year has been ruined by special ammo in my opinion. The scavenger perks make it where you can use Erentil, Dusk Rock, snipers, etc the whole entire game. They got to implement a system to keep players from being able to keep special the whole game. It makes quest objectives using primary weapons a nightmare due to instant kill weapons. Don’t even get me started on Supers.

Look.... it's really hard to keep everyone happy. That's about it. One truth is certain though, the more you separate and subdivide the pvp player counts through various matchmaking algorithms the more problems pop up. Like network related problems and lag, also wait times. And depending which end you're closer to of the apparent "skill" factor the game has you in, you might find yourself playing the same people over and over... does that sound fun? That said, I understand the desire to enjoy the game against opponents you have a chance of beating and a close match is always exciting. This is actually a very interesting conversation and also very important for the future health of the game...yes I said it, pvp is important for the game.
