Whoever Designed the EAZ Needs a Raise

I sincerely hope that we get more areas and PvP maps like this in Shadowkeep and further Seasons. This is the kind of map I've been craving for a long damn time, it reminds me of some of the Halo Reach maps back in the day. edit 1: Obligatory "We're Trending!" post. Carry on.

    • Does anyone else feel like it was originally designed to be a map for a Destiny Battle Royale? I sure as hell do.

    • I agree - love the verticality. 10x as many nooks and crannies to explore - feels like a real location instead of little zones with zero depth. Would love for this to be a permanently explorable locale in the EDZ - stuff it full of hidden logs, mementos, rusted tech, secret chests, etc.

    • At the same time, whoever put the "We'll show you the chests you won't reach in time" at the last 10 seconds needs a swift kick in the nuts/ lady bits (gotta be all-inclusive)

      • Big mistake should of included final boss also. A lot of players are leaving after mini boss kills and not completing final boss and chest. I'm spawning into games at final boss kill stage, waste of my time when farming the 100 mini boss kills. And not fair to people killing final boss and farming chest if they end up solo which happened to me several times.

      • They should've had 3 bosses spawn. 1 person can easily kill a boss, so the 3rd person the team is just left to run around and maybe tag a boss a few times.

        • Yeah, raised to the top of a tall building and dropped over the side. EAZ is something you HAVE to do, not want to do (at least for me). It's a cramped, crowded, cluttered and confusing mess. Too many enemies, no sight lines and having to hunt for your rewards... Maybe as a PVP map the folks that enjoy that sort of thing would like it. As an activity map, at least for me it's a royal p.i.t.a. and I would never choose to do it for fun. The only reason I endure EAZ runs is because I want the armor. If there was any other way...

          • I feel like it's pretty anti-warlock and anti-titan. Maneuver ing through the place while trying to do the 100 miniboss kills for blue solstice armor is so frustrating as a warlock.

            • It’s honestly a really fun activity. My favorite thing about it is the verticality. I already loved the design of the EDZ but this takes it to another level with the roof tops. I loved it.

                The need firing lol. Every game I join has 1 guy alone at the boss. It's terrible design. Timed, hidden stuff, frustration. And a quest that sees everyone leave once the boss spawns, yeah.

                • Too bad it's a timed event and it will go bye-bye. I sometimes wonder why things like the Infinite Forest or other things that are unique designs are not used more often. Bungie should create more areas like EAZ in the game for various things. It would give a little more life to the game and they have plenty of options to use it for.

                  • the first time i went all the way to the top of the main building in the middle i almost cried - that level of verticality without glitching or an invisible ceiling is something i have been waiting for since d1.

                    • Map is good - game mode is Bungie trolling it's playerbase with endless waves of too-tough enemies and a final boss encounter no one sticks around for...it's really not enjoyable at all..

                    • I agree, the map is fun to explore and beautifully designed. I do always find myself getting lost inside the buildings trying to get a mini boss or chest.

                    • I was genuinely surprised (and pleased) that there weren't a bunch of invisible walls everywhere. You can just go wherever you see fit, as long as you can jump that high. They REALLY need to find a way to make patrol spaces like this.

                        • It’s pretty good. I hope more levels feel this open. Destiny has always felt a bit cramped with areas that look like you should be able to go to but can’t

                        • the map is cool, trying to find anything with a timer is the single worst thing in destinys history. needing 300 minibosses killed will take forever unless I find a group to cheese it
