PVE Pinnacles need to be designed to be the best for PVE activities

I know Wendigo is strong but Oxygen SR3 is not. I am just saying I think when PVE pinnacles are made, they should be amazing in PVE. The PVP pinnacles are amazing in PVP AND PVE, which is fine, but PVE pinnacles should stand out way more in PVE activities than the PVP. I just think its a flaw in design in how they make the PVE pinnacles.

  • Bungie's favoritism towards pvp is clearly shown within their pinnacle pvp weapons. Most of them are not only incredible in pvp but also monstrous in pve while pve pinnacle weapons are straight ass. the fusion rifle is only useful if you shoot once, stow it and pull it out after x amount of time or if you use a luna rift or barricade. The scout has good cc but scouts need serious love. Oxygen would've been better as a primary hand cannon or pulse rifle with firefly. I miss firefly for kinetics from d1. Wendigo is only useful if you have masterworked weapons to keep the buff going. Outrageous Fortune with spike grenades is better imo. They should've included spike nades on Wendigo. Pvp weapons require less setup and are more versatile.

    • Especially when one of the strongest weapons for PvE in the game (The Recluse) is a PvP pinnacle weapon.

            • All pinnacle weapons should be above average in all activities. Crucible, typically being the hardest to obtain, should be towards the top of the pinnacle weapons. Not saying they should be leagues ahead of the others, but at the top, with Vanguard and Gambit pinnacle weapons sometimes being at the top. Oxygen really does need a PvE buff though. And probably the Gambit auto rifle I obtained and never used and forgot the name of too.

              • The scout rifle I will admit was lackluster to say the least. I can’t put down the Loaded Question tho. That fusion is a BEAST. I don’t even use shotguns anymore. It’s LQ and Recluse for me. I don’t use the Wendigo. I never liked grenade launchers.

                  • Just keep it and wait it out until scouts finally get their deserved buff. It’s definitely one of the best legendary scouts at the moment if used correctly, but it’s still underwhelming. Just like all scouts across the board. I know it’s not right and we basically worked for a weapon that isn’t useable yet, but bungie can not keep ignoring how weak scouts are, also that nobody is using them and the inevitable will come in due time. It’s also the only PvE pinnacle that springs to mind that is not good. 21% delirium can be a beast (I don’t like it much but that’s besides the point). I’m totally in love with the the Loaded Question, people sleep on that too much I feel, great AoE damage with a large radius, also if you’re firing into a bunch of red bars then spread your bolts across them as it fires, this takes practice but the result is sublime when you see 3-4 red bars explode killing the other 10 and the major in the middle. Oxygen is a shame but I really feel it’s time will come. Others are great!

                    • Oxygen is strong for an energy scout. The problem is it's an energy scout. A small damage buff and it would be one of the best PvE options.

I think what they should do is have three pinnacles each season. Each achievable through either Crucible, Gambit, or PvE activities. Those PvE activities being strikes, raids, heroics, or location activities like EP, BW, Forges, and Menagerie. Each would have three appearances and the appearance when attained would reflect the choice the player made as how to earn it. The other two appearances would be achievable ornaments through other, less involved means of the other activities. This way people can play what they like the most to get the weapon and it gives players more to do if they want to unlock another appearance for the weapon.

                        • Stop calling Oxygen a scout and start referring to all scouts as long hand cannons. Bungie will be all over them lika a rash. 😂

                          • Did you know that they were supposed to buff oxygen during the start of season of opulence? They said they would. As you all realize, they didn’t... It’s a shame, because even with its severe flaws, I still use it for fun. It’s the solar weapon I use when I don’t want to use Polaris lance, and yet in reality, I’m just gimping myself just to feel like using a DMR from halo. I wish bungie would stop breaking so many of their promises to their players. But in the end, the reign of all things will always come to an end. RIP scouts. RIP whisper. Please hold a moment of silence for every weapon lost within the confines of the leviathan, against the crown of sorrow

                          • This makes sense. But i think bungie is becoming more cautious with the power we wield and of fast we can burn enemies. Dont get me wrong. I agree with you. To me they should be all in on that power fantasy for players...but it looks like they are stepping back from that

                          • A sidearm would be cool maybe with after a kill and reload it would fire 2 shots instead of 1. So 16 rounds for example would turn to 8 shots when the perk is active. Maybe multi-or normal kill clip?

                          • I agree that Oxygen should be stronger (though I think that mostly it's a scout rifle problem in general), but Wendigo and Loaded Question I think are decently powerful and have really useful PVE specific perks (although I can't compare them to something like Recluse, as I don't have it). That said, Oxygen is surprisingly good in PVP lol.

                          • You could have given Bungie some constructive feedback on how they could be better. Personally, I like all of the Vanguard pinnacle weapons. The Loaded Question destroys mobs. It does something no other fusion does. People debate that, but they're wrong. The Oxygen SR3, I like it, but it's a scout rifle. It destroys mobs too, but scouts are a little weak overall for major and ultra damage if you run a primary/primary setup. The Wendigo, I've had and used it for about a week. It does some major damage when all loaded up, especially if you add a Boss Spec mod. Maybe the blinding effect could last a little longer. It's barely noticeable, but if you go too far the other way, you'd be able to stun lock bosses, so maybe it's just right. They all feel good to me. Regardless of what the PvP pinnacles can do in PvE. For a lot of people, the PvP guns are harder to get, so maybe they should be a little more powerful in PvE.
