I am at 698 and spent an hour to get a 699 powerful frame. Huh?!?
I have very low interest in the forges to begin with, but I figured, hey, I have a 700 primary and a 700 power, let's do an auto frame and get a 700 energy.
What I had though might be a useful system to at least direct a little bit of RNG in my favor in terms of giving my time to a weekly powerful frame turned out to be a total waste of time.
I spent about an hour doing izanami forge, then gofannon forge to get the ballistics log, then went to mars and did 2 lost sectors to get the beta to a full frame. I then went bergusia forge to get the auto rifle.
The auto rifle ringing nail (apt name) dropped at 699. Why would that be the case? This amount of time isn't worth it for what I thought was at least a somewhat more direct method to control a slot for a powerful reward.
Luckily I got a prime and since I keep getting energy primes for some reason, that bad RNG finally worked in my favor. But I'm really not grateful to the forge for giving me a 699 powerful weekly reward when I am 698. It strikes me as stingy and cheap.

2 RepliesI feel your pain. But I think it’s working as intended to make you/us play more. Started my IB bounties at 698 and finished at 698. Every single one of them dropped at 1 level above my current. Of course they are all slots I didn’t need them in either. I turned it off after I finished all the not so powerful bounties. Over this shit show

3 RepliesAfter 696 you don't actually deal any more damage. It takes like 15 or 20 minutes to grind out a frame, relax.

Play the game, don’t let the game play you. There are only a few activities where the so-called Powerful Gear drops at greater than a +1 once your character reaches 690. NF, Raids and Ascendent Challenges coupled with Prime Engrams are the best activities. Everything else will award +1 or if you’re lucky maybe +2.

It’s cause bungie decided people getting +1 drops from your max light level was a good idea. Oh well wasn’t to bad for me, just leveled off hitting fabled in comp and resetting valor 5 times

1 ReplySame here, just happened to me with the machine gun. Powerful drops are not so powerful. Really annoying to get 699 gear when I am 698.
