Can we have chat on console?
Hey bungie is it at all possible for console players to have a chat box? I mean like a region chat, a prox chat, a fire team chat, a clan chat and maybe even a recruitment chat? It would make communication between players and our own clan mates cooo much easier. And if you really want to go the extra mile you could give us muting options so if I didn’t want my chat popping up 24/7 while I’m in an activity or in world I could set it so my chat only comes up when I’m in orbit or in a social space or if someone PM’s me. Also, yea sure there’s gonna be trolls but that’s what the reporting function is for, you could also give us individual player muting like we have in the forums. I think the benefit of a chat system outweighs the negative.
Edit: it’s a text chat, not a voice one

4 Repliesyou mean, you DONT chat with your clan mates when you play? its called a Party invite, works fine for me.. a good idea but a no from me, I have No interest in chatting to random fappers, wannabe rappers, drama queens and angry virgins online. I mean, those that don't play fortnite spill into destiny.

Ah, this takes me back to the days of using mirc chat. Anyone remember people spamming the chats with various characters and symbols to create pictures? Uhh... Damn I'm old.

For how little this would get used for anything useful, and how often it would be a sheer annoyance, and how quickly paid carriers would start spamming the channels, no. Save the money for development that actually matters.

Why not. Watching people go at each other in chat can be quite entertaining, used to watch it all the time when I played Defiance on PS3.

12 Repliestyping on consoles is extremely cumbersome, the feature would hardly ever be used. it’s easy on pc because you can shoot a message in two seconds, but on console it takes twenty to type out and send a single sentence
