This post is so ridiculous
You think I, a pvp player, wants to grind for the long goodbye? mindbenders ambition? the supremacy? dust rock blues? blast furnace? retold tale? twilight oath? all of these top tier pvp weapons that are locked behind pve? I don’t, i find it boring and its kind of frustrating that all i want to do is play pvp but i have to play a bunch of pve activities to get the best weapons. But you know what, i dont complain about it. its part of the game so i play it and grind it just as i should and i think a lot of pvp mains can say the same.
The fact that pve players are upset over things like headshots for ace of spades and double kills for last word is ignorance at its finest. It’s maybe 10 games of crucible, not hours upon hours of grinding forges or dreaming city or raids or nightfalls. sometimes you have to play the part of the game that you dont main for a little while for a quest. if you find that so unbearable then i dont think this game is for you.
Edit: i did not expect so many people to agree with me, i was sure that this would be a very controversial reply but i am glad to see a lot of people, even pve players, seeing reason. Please continue to discuss.

80% of the game is PvE, the game SHOULD be catering to the casual pve players

No ones cares about pvp minority. This game is pve.

Nope. Inflated because of quest. Manipulatuon again.

Prove it

Check numbers 2 weeks back. Pretty simple. Then in a few weeks after everyone gets the step done

Edited by michael: 1/31/2019 4:42:05 AM652.8k crucible players and 820.1K pve players yesterday according to destinytracker. Literally what minority? And the numbers have always been roughly the same proportionally in terms of pve to pvp players, the last word quest has not changed things.
-
Here's what I'd suggest would be an interesting but impossible experiment: Convince Bungie to have a week where you can do either double PvE milestones for progression or double play the PvP ones and where every reason to be in any PvP mode offered a PvE alternative way of completing that bounty, quest or milestone. Then see if it's real desire to play PvP putting people in there or bribery with loot and progression that makes people play the mode.

Edited by BegFourMercy: 1/31/2019 4:44:10 AMHmmm. Maybe because of the quest. Duh. This is the only way to keep manipulated numbers. And yes that is minority even with it. Check numbers from last week.
-
Did you read what I said? The proportion of pve to pvp players has been consistently similar every week, it has hardly changed since the quest came out. I remember checking a week or two ago and it was 1.1 million pve and 800k pvp which is, like i said, a similar proportion.
-
The problem is you're ignoring the overlap and the motivation. How many of those 800k PvP players were people just dropping in to complete a milestone and also count in the PvE numbers? Lets assume an 100% overlap where all PvP players on a day also played PvE: Then ~30% of the PvE players choose not to be interested in PvP on any given day. Examine the other end of the spectrum where there is no overlap then ~60% would have no interest in PvP (Clearly these are extreme positions that just establish the bounds that somewhere between 30% and 60% of daily players have no interest in PvP on that day even when bribed)
-
Absolutely 1000% this. From a PvE player. 🙂
-
In that case, why not help PvE players and push Bungie for expanding the steps to allow players to get weapons and gear in Quests the way they want to? Have both Vanguard or Crucible objectives to complete, with either one progressing you forward. The balance to make it work could be done via perk rolls. If you complete the PvE portion of the Quest, you get a PvE roll of the weapon/armor, and if you complete the PvP portion, you get a PvP roll. Everybody wins.

Great post👍

Preach 🙏 precisely. These damn casuals are pushing it now lol. If you don’t want/can’t do the challenge, you can’t have the gun. Full stop. Now grow up and get over it. PS. The quest was really easy anyway. Just took a while and most of that was bloody repetitive pve!

I hate PvE bitches like these

And we hate PvP bitches like you

That wave splitter and teleso should be locked out temporarily in comp. Cheaters should have some penalties since it affecting people game play experience. The only reason why I get upset about a crucible step in D2 is there are some things they need to fix. D1 there not as many issues behind getting loot. And these maps are way too small also so there are some things they need to fix if they make it more enjoyable I think most of these post would not exist
