Official bow appreciation thread
Let’s discuss bows. Personally, I’m loving my Subtle Calamity with dragonfly. Can’t wait to get into mods and armor perks specially for bows. They feel so solid and are very rewarding to use.
EDIT: I’ve seen a couple other posts with people already talking about wanting a nerf. DO NOT NERF. They are perfect as is. Do not ruin this super fun weapon. They are in a good spot and work within the realms of their intended use.
EDIT: Wow, never thought this would take off. Thanks for all the good conversation and positivity. I think we’ve needed a thread like this. These forums can be quite a dark place sometimes. Good job to bungie for delivering an expansion that’s got this many people feeling good. We’ll see how it all unfolds in the coming weeks and months but I think they hit a bullseye here. 🎯

3 RepliesMost fun I've ever had in Destiny EVER: Warlock + Dawnblade + Attunement of Sky + Wings of Sacred Dawn (armor) + Bow (mine is Arsenic Bite) + Icarus Grip (mod) = the "Literal Icarus Build" Just snipe people from 10 meters up in the air with perfect accuracy (provided you don't miss). I even flew too high at one point and burnt the wings (went out of bounds in Crucible). And I don't even have Forsaken. Thankyou for making this possible.

6 Replies@cosmo I would love some clarification on the Arsenic Bite B4 bow. It states its a gunsmith/engram drop but there is 0 gameplay or comments saying that they have one. Any clarification?

1 ReplyThe one you get from petra has remained in my primary slot, and won’t be leaving until a certain exotic one drops 🙂. I love them...high risk high reward is my favourite way to play.

Got a “Ran out of medals” with No Turning Back and Trust (Gambit Hand Cannon). Precision shot with bow then switch to hand cannon and reap kill.

2 RepliesI've gotten the Calamity as well, and mine came with Archer's Tempo. Not a bad perk, not by a longshot, but I do wish it had been something else. Also, do we know of other bow types as of yet, or is is solely the compounds?

I love how in damage they’re somewhere in between the real of a sniper and that of a scout. At least that’s what I’ve seen through playing with the one Petra gives you.

The range is amazing and the accuracy is forgiving without being a complete aimbot. The charge time keeps you from spamming shots and the fact that you can’t hold a charged shot forever keeps you from just always having a shot ready. Also the fact there there is a good bit of travel time means you have to put more thought into where you’re shooting than just “dihurr the enemy is in that general direction, so if I look over there and hold down the trigger they’ll die.” It’s a weapon that’s somewhat easy to use but difficult to master.

Bows are amazing i have the archers tempo perk on mine and it makes it so that the more precsicion kills you get. the faster the draw time kind of like a mini outlaw. Im one hundred percent with you bows should stay the way they are in pvp they defenently are a skill gap weapon because they are very punishing if you miss you target. They reward skilled players in pvp and pve. I love them .

You know, I had my doubts that a bow would work in the world of Destiny, but now that I’ve tried one, I must say it feels extremely satisfying to shoot.

2 RepliesSo quick question... and it might be a dumb one. But which is better, a higher draw time or a lower draw time? Id assume lower.. but what has me confused is that when it shows a lower draw time compared to one with a higher draw time, the arrow is red. So.. im just perplexed.

Back in D1 I had hoped for some sort of tek bow. I’m pretty happy with how they play.
