Wow... The raid community has become a bunch of pricks in D2. No one is willing to teach anything. Posts like:
"Must have 30 clears no exceptions"
"Must be an expert"
"Must have 50 clears" (yes that was real)
"Must know exactly what to do"
"Don't bother of you don't know what to do"
I know the player base has dropped off by 90%, but damnnnn. It looks like snobs were left. I had thousands of hours in D1 I raided all raids hundreds of times (except WoM, it wasn't fun). My clan knew everything about the raids. TTK we could run prestige in under 40 minutes. We often carried people 2 at a time and ran that one at least 5-6 times a week helping people. We tought people ALL THE TIME.
No one wants to teach anymore. I get it, people just want to get the raid done. I've been there... Countless times. Hell, my characters are 370, 372, 372 and I'm seeing nightfall NORMAL requirements for 370+!!! It's a 270 NF! Even for prestige you don't need to be more than 350-355 (unless you're going for a high score or grinding). We all did prestige at 350 or less. This community is sad now.
Screw all that shit! I'm searching the forums for guardians looking for help. While it looks like i won't be raiding at least i can try to help some kinderguardians and salvage some of the community.

As a usual solo player I am in a clan but no one is really ready for the raids. I have done every raid but prestige because no one is really willing to teach and yes it might take a while, but at least you can expand the player base for the activity. I think the player base has become way less competent there are a few who are and even fewer of those competent players want to teach new players. Yes destiny is a dying game but at least make it enjoyable for players. I usually don’t have time to do raids and when I do I waste most of it on finding a team.

2 RepliesWith 10,000 different videos on youtube, there's no excuse for not knowing what to do going into any raid these days. If they can't answer "yes" to knowing what to do, that's on them. If someone has the online capability to play Destiny, they have the capability to google and learn on their own.

Edited by Prof Sheitbag: 5/31/2018 8:17:04 PMWere you around in D1? This is nothing new. I would argue this is mild compared to the blight of "Need a G-Horn with over 10k confirmed PvE kills before you can raid with us!" era...

It'd be some weird, crazy thing if Bungie added matchmaking. Some weird crazy thing, alright.

1 ReplyI've guided 16 raids in 2 weeks, I strongly disagree that only snobs are left. If you're on xbox, never lfg, hop in a guided games. Lfg is a mixed bag but lately it's leaning more to the toxic side. Guided games however is mostly just people wanting to teach and increase the amount of sherpas they have, plus you get a neato aura.

Edited by Euronymous: 5/31/2018 8:18:13 PMMan I would love to do the new raids if u have a certain schedule u do them at I am down. I haven’t done any of the raids in D2 yet.

I should be known as a helper, I did 15 raids last week on my titan and helped many people get their light up, I know where everything is and i know how to explain and Im willing to help out more. I currently hit 381 but 335 normal raids are good to go. People recommending "340+" on a normal leviathan raid is stupid, except Prestige you really must know what to do because itll be hell, but we really dont need to do prestige in a constant. I will with a core team but we chit chat too much oWo. I am willing to teach noobs I have all this knowledge and Im not a snob, if anyone wishes to raid normally text me in discord, I will surely help :D Discord: CookieDough#9364 I'll see you soon Raiders!

2 RepliesOne time back in Destiny 1 I tried LFG for the first time and I was kicked out for coughing once. Then I check LFG again and the person updated the listing to have "no coughing" . Good times.
-
This is why I gave up doing any of the raids.

2 RepliesI agree with everything you said except that you said WotM wasnt fun those are some fighting words boi lol

Edited by Mr Fats: 6/4/2018 12:58:01 PMso, if you feel too many guardians need and people are just not helping them then help just offer it yourself, no need to complain, some times people want to help others, other times people just want to get it done quick. The reason why people are so picky lately is because of the amount of time it takes to get through a raid with inexperienced players, it can literally take hours to carry 1 person without experienced in some cases. While in D1, raids allowed you to carry someone for the part, except WoTM probably that would require most people to be in the know. for example the new raid, takes little skill or experience to reach the boss, phase two takes about 5-10 minutes max, if you dont have an experienced team it can take hours... some people dont have hours to complete this activity.

13 Repliesit didn't "just happen" it was like that from the beginning of D2 if you weren't in a clan that moved to D2 from D1 you pretty much got left behind havent done a full clear of any D2 raid from start to finish still, after thousands of D1 hours and a ton of Hard raid clears and its fine, Bungie went from having raids that involve actual team work to "jumping puzzles" anyway, so you aren't missing out on much (unless you want to bump your - pretty much useless - light level)
-
The wipe mechanic introduced by Bungie is probably one of the main reasons for the toxicity. This could have been predicted. Not the total reason though. Situation was toxic in D1 as well. I just think many of the remaining players actually derive self-worth from their standing in the game. If they think they are Caesar, they start acting like an emperor.

You need to find some friends if you use LFG for nightfall. Raids, I understand. Also-we want to make sure that we can get the raid done QUICK-we don’t need to spend 9 hours doing something that takes half an hour. I’ve carried my fair share of new guys (no guided games. It’s trash) The spire thing is ridiculous, though. It’s really not difficult, but I can’t join any good teams because I don’t have any completions of it, never mind 50. Never mind that whenever I do it I’m usually the one doing everything right (I make mistakes in the raids, everyone does. Even these try hard bois) You Just have to give people a shot. I did, and now I’m okay with doing raids with noobs after a quick run for loot. Please note that I only carry guys I know

4 RepliesEdited by NotaWarCultSpy: 6/4/2018 10:45:18 AMI don't wanna be that guy, but its "knob" not "nob". As in Doorknob.
-
i imagine the 50 clears thing was an attempt at spire day 1? and it was 50 clears in other raids im guessing, its what i would do if i had to get a day 1 team from here, but what really annoys me is when i see people asking for 350, 370 + for the OLD RAIDS which cap out at 300 light... there is literally no point in being that over leveled... a simple "know what to do" will suffice, light level doesn't mean skill, it means dedication, even then it doesn't take long to get all 3 characters 385 if you play a lot
-
Honestly me and my buddy just two man the nightfall, which was all we did in d1, its honestly astounding that its a 270 activity still
-
I don't care if people want to put ridiculous clauses on there fireteams, that's fine. It's the -blam!-wits that post these requirements that don't meet there own requirements looking for carry's and flat out lying.
-
The issue is that most casuals are gone
-
Note how every game except destiny literally has queues to do activities and thry all work fine. Yet here you need to go out of yur way, away from the game, use the app or 3rd party site just to play a damn mode.
-
3 RepliesI’ve been wanting to do prestige leviathan for months, all of my characters were 330+ before warmind, and now all of them are 365+. I know what to do for all the steps, but every LFG post is like, “Need 10+ Clears, be 385”so I can never find a group to do it
-
I saw someone asking for 50+ raid clears but when I checked his stats he’d only done 8.
-
Yeah, I was finding the Nightfall requirements hilarious. "365+, must have emblem, aura, etc." Those are likely people that are getting carried in all activities. They want you to be good because they suck. Ain't nobody got time for that. 🤣
-
I cycled through 3 people who were just not listening to simple instructions 5 times. Then i swapped those people got 1 new raider, he listened to all information, and everything was completed first try like a seasoned raider. I like helping new raiders, but I'm also not going to drill my head into. *most people say wall* *Well i say Brick Wall* If you listen awesome! Questions? Sure you got it. Not listening? I'll probaly ask you to leave nicely at that point. It's a 50/50 toss up with randoms.
-
I blame the mechanics of the raids. Raids before were mostly just kill stuff so everyone could do them with no explanation. I personally don’t find the newer raids fun at all.

1 ReplyIt always had a small group of elitist pricks. Small, but a loud group of assholes.
