The IKELOS handcannon: how 180 rpm handcannons should be.
I cannot begin to explain how much I love this weapon.
As a weapon it's accurate, it's got good range, and it's fun to use.
It's magazine is a bit lackluster, so an increase to 11 or 12 would be great but this weapon is still fun to use regardless.
Now when I use something like nature of the beast, it's not bad, but it feels a little...weird to use.
It's hard to explain but I'm sure people who have used it know what I'm talking about.
The way the IKELOS handles makes it a VERY good longer range 180 rpm handcannon and with the more recent precision damage modifier buff, this weapon easily 4 taps to the head.
It's a very swift and effective crucible weapon and I hope bungie continues to make more of them like it.
Make sure to give them 11 and over mags!
I'm currently grinding to try out west of sunfall (I believe that's what it's called...the forge handcannon) and if anyone who has it can give me some info that would be great.

First, it needs a bit more range, to make it a decent hitter at slightly longer ranges. Second/third, the most important need lies in reload time and mag size balancing. I believe a slight increase in both would be better and more balanced than a major increase in just one of them. Let's say, a 13 round mag and a 15% increase in reload speed. That may even be generous, considering that I hope the devs have included some 180 exotic HCs that use the Ikelos as a base in firing pattern, handling, etc. in the new Forsaken update.

2 RepliesEasily one of my favourite weapons, seems to have a quick TTK in close/ medium range. I'm no weapon expert, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as it kills in 4 headshots (and is like a laser beam), and is 180rpm - doesn't that give it a quicker ttk than 140rpm handcannons? Using the power of math its firing rate is 29% faster than 140 rpm. So if ur in optimum range n can nail all headshots u have it beat! I have my mobility set to 7 and use threat detector, so can strafe and shoot well.

1 ReplyArguably my most favourite gun in the game. Either a larger mag size and even explosive rounds to possibly up that damage a little bit. Mine is masterworked with improved stability. Thing has absolutely no recoil, and the Ophidian Aspect gauntlets and armour mod on my Warlock helps with the long reload

Now fire it again and imagine it's Hawkmoon. Sound familiar? Nostalgia is a powerful force Using IKELOS with the new titan gauntlets that have the luck in the chamber sound really brought me back

3 RepliesThis thing is crispy as hell. I love using it. Easily the best HC in the game right now. I think it's pretty balanced. The reload is slow AF, and the mag isn't the best, but if you are landing those crits, then it's a beast.

5 RepliesThe thing with that archetype/recoil pattern is you either love it or hate it. Me, I hate it. Doing all these quests with it equipped has been like cutting off my leg with a catfish. That said, west of sunfall should be amazing for you.

WoS was the first HC with this "backwards" recoil. It was my HC until Ikelos showed up. Still have it in my inventory, and regularly infuse things on it. Same style: accurate, good range, hard hitting Knights and Minotaurs. Go for it!

1 ReplyHalf the problem with Nature of the Beast is it doesn't even sound like a handcannon. Just has that weird popping sound. IKELOS sounds exactly how a handcannon should and it has brilliant accuracy.

Its ok . Not a big fan of the 180 archetype. Furthermore of all archetypes to place this gun in they use the 180. This os the same gun we have to carry and for a good long while to achieve certain things. Not to mention 9 in the chamber. Should have at least been 11.

The [i]West of Sunfall 7[/i] is very similar to the [i]IKELOS_HC_V1.0.1[/i]; in that they have the same recoil pattern. It is an averagely well put together weapon, but its reload speed is higher than the [i]IKELOS_HC_V1.0.1[/i], so I would be wary of that much.

Sucks that they wasted a rasputing hand cannon on that shitty archetype. Are there any new, proper hand cannons in this dlc? Have not found any.

Stopped using Better Devils as soon as I got it. Masterworks with a reload perk helps a bit too.

3 RepliesStay away from The West of Sunfall 7. There is a visual bug on the gun that makes it so it dosen't return to center based upon its fire rate. Someone over on reddit actually did a video showing how bad it is.
